The reason that the error pops up is that the shortcut for internet sharing has been removed, I believe this is for the verizon folks because there was a fake internet sharing program which would spy for tethering. Selecting internet sharing from the start menu will work even though it will give you an error just click ok. Another problem for sprint folks is that you will repeatedly get kicked off from tethering, A message will pop up saying something to the effect of " a remote party has ended this data session". This can be avoided by deleting the following registry key. HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Setting\ForceCellConnect ion . After doing this you will have a drop down box which will allow you to select sprint or PAM, after selecting sprint you will stay connecting and will not have this problem.

no, as i do not use the 23xxx or 28xxx branches. I use com2 builds, (218xx) for stability, and also they are the branch that that builds the sys for manila roms.

That branch is very buggy. I tested a "big name" 23518 release that came out today and couldn't be happier to be back on beta 2 of R3. The threaded email sure is cool though... hope it makes its way to the COM2 branches.

hi all,

i just moved to this rom ... my first manila 2.5 rom ... was curious has there been a resolution to these yet:

1. "theres a minor cosmetic bug with s2, the data activity icon stays lit 100% of the time even when no data is being transfered"?
2. the mail number of messages pic is covered by the square frame pic and looks funny ... any resolution on that yet?

OK hope this is not toooo noob. I am used to other roms that allow you to press the end key and it will take you to the home screen and the send key takes you to the phone screen. With this rom, if I am reading a sms and press the end key, it just sits there. Also if you press the phone key it calls the contact associated with the sms thread. This may be intended and I may be the problem . I tried settings->personal->buttons and set the end key to various options with no luck. If someone knows how to make this scenario work, that is end key takes you to the home screen and send key takes you to phone, please let me know. I am just used to the other roms..but I will be very happy to learn something new as this is the best rom I have flashed to date

I also hope this is something that gets addressed.
The standard function of any cell phone out there, whether it be a flip phone or a PPC, is to have the end key return the user to the home/default screen.

I believe these are both bugs in the 2.5 Manila files, thus as far as I know, all 2.5 ROMS will have these issues.

Hi Chuck_IV, thanks for your response, but looking at the EnergyRom thread and its pics, neither one of the issues seem to be apparent with the rom. I haven't used the rom, so I can't verify, but I don't see why the pics would be changed.
