I only flash from sd card -> let rom load all the way -> then hard reset.
I never flash back to stock rom. But I found the hard reset after flash is a must.

Am I the only one that has been getting SOD on R7?

It always wakes up after clicking a bunch of times and holding the button down for a while but still the same behavior...

Just wanted to ask if updating was that big a deal to pull deck away from more pressing issues to do this... Not flaming at all just a thought. I'd rather update myself which takes seconds and a restart, which is quick with deck's ROM, to have deck put all his resources in more pressing matters.

Thanks.. That's what I did, but the ##778 code didn't work on r8.5 so I had to reflash to stock, call VZW, enter the auth code, then reflash 8.5 and set everything up again. I was hoping there was a way to enable the ## without having to reflash. Oh well..

It may be because I am using pocketshield to lock my device, but I have not had the sod in 8.5 and had it running since last night.
After seeing WM7, flashing 6.5 will just not be as fun anymore.....

WM7 won't be happenin on our devices. I believe there's a spec limitation to WM7 phones, but I'm guessing someone's gonna make something really similar to it...and knowing HTC, they'll find some sort of new way to cover that up too- they can't let Sense UI die out after all the hard work they put into it (but of course they can just concentrate on putting that in Android)
