Kinda a newbie here. I am only getting 6 hours on my verizon touch pro. Which radio will get me the best battery life?

I'm no pro and I'm on Sprint but from what I've read you have to try out some different ones. It's based on your location so there isn't ONE that's best for everyone. And you don't HAVE to use a Verizon one. I used a Verizon one for awhile and it was great, then the lastest Sprint one came out so I tried that and it was just a bit better. Hope that helps. Have fun with your field tests

Not sure, just two bu the looks of the first post. Did you look over at xda? I saw a post that mentioned 1.14.xx (?) but haven't had time to research it, I assume it's a Sprint one but it could be something to investitgate? Good luck.

Hey,

I just wanted to give you a great big thanks for posting these radios. I recently upgraded my Alltel Touch Pro (Now on Verizon) to the updated ROM on HTC's web site. They included the 1.12.20F radio update, which crippled my GPS from getting a quick lock on the Sat's (it took greater than 10 minutes get a lock). I downgraded to the original 1.03.13F and my GPS locked in 10 seconds!!! I also upgraded my ROM to the latest Mighty ROM, and I fell in love with my phone again. Many thanks to you and the excellent members here that contribute so much to the Smartphone/Winmo community!!!

Just an FYI. Sitting at my parents house now with poor EV-DO reception. Went to 1x for a bit and I just checked and it's back to EV-DO. So that Sprint 1.12.34 radio is definitely an improvement over Telus 1.04 in that respect. This is while tethering, btw.

Haven't noticed anything drastic compared to Telus 1.04. I did drop a call or two. And I went to a Chilis where everyone whipped our their Blackberrys on Verizon and my TP on Sprint went from no 1x to looking for service. But I don't know how Telus would have performed. It may have done the same thing. I like that it switches back to EV from 1x while tethering. That is pretty important to me.

EDIT: Well my GPS appears to be broken. I've never had a GPS problem until this Sprint 1.12.34 radio. I'll try again at home but I am kind of annoyed.

EDIT 2: Needed GPS while driving and google maps was able to get 8 sats. So I guess it's working now. I didn't do anything.

Re: [AUG 4] *12 Radios Available* Updated Touch Pro CDMA Radio Archive Thread

ok, I'm running windows xp on this old pc and my tp won't connect via activesync. It is not my pc and I don't wanna update really, too many bugs in vista personally. I would like to unlock my tp and flash some of these radios. I'm in northern indiana and the customer service rep tells me that this is a EV area and supposedly I'm in the between 2 towers close by and I get 1X most of the time. I go 5 miles down the road basically to the next town and get fairly decent EV... then also my tp feels like it will explode in my pocket. I wanna aleviate that as much as possible. Haven't ever tried flashing roms before but this shipped rom is pissing me off. I love my tp but there are alot of issues in my area.
