Re: [060709] grooveROM 5 - CE OS 5.2.21731 (Build 21731.5.0.2) [Touch Pro Edition]

This is probably an issue on my end but nonetheless is anyone else having trouble flicking the time up or down to view appointments at the Home tab in Manila?

Edit: Also Touch Flo 3D crashes and then relaunches when the weather tab is selected in Standard Manila.

Tried it, still doesn't work. Not in WMP Mobile 10 - You're right though, WMP Mo10 is supposed to be able to play wav and it does play all my .wav files.

I really think it's the way Telus is coding their .wav files for VVM - I can only get it to play with certain media players. eg TCPMP and on the Samsung Omnia Media Player (not WMP)

Are you sure they're .wav files? Can you upload one for me to look at?

Gotcha. I haven't used ny Manila for a long time myself, so I can't attest to how well it works with 6.5 versions. I know that manila versions do differ in the way that they respond to the flip as they have different manila home files. For example the groove HD Digital clock version, you have to kinda press/hold/and flip on the clock itself to flip up. I never had any issues in the past with the Digital version though. Weird. It may be that thouch flo (biotouch -- not TF3D) isn't included due to wm 6.5's kinetic scrolling. You may want to search for a biotouch cab.

Here is a test VM from the Telus rep. Thank you by the way for taking a look into this. I've worked with Telus since the release of VVM with this issue without any good response.

You know what's strange - I try and upload this file and the attachment manager gives me an error "invalid file"
Yet the file plays on my PC as a .wav in both VLC and WMP

Try uploading to rapidshare or somewhere like that.

We should probably be doing this over PM so as not to clutter your thread. Here's the link to my VVM file, I loaded it to my website.

Thank you again for your help

Don't worry about cluttering the thread. Other people might have the same issue, and if we keep in in PM it slows the information process for the community overall.

Although I don't have an exact answer, I do agree that it has to do with the way Telus is formatting the wav files. Here's what I can tell you about that file format you uploaded: IMA ADPCM 4:1 (MS) 8000Hz, Mono, 64kbps

As I mentioned, I can play Vonage voicemails file, which have the following file format: CCITT u-law 2:1 8000Hz, Mono, 64kbps

So, I don't know if it's the codec or the compression level, but regardless WMP won't play them. You might wanna try the PPC version of winamp.

The real question is, what app plays them in the stock Telus ROM?
