I think HTC's is better than the Tachi dialer, but I personally use PhonEx from Iconsoft (http://www.iconsoft.com). Very good dialer and guess what, NO RINGTONE ISSUES! LOL!

...this is the method I use and it seems to work fine [I'm running 11/14 21864]:

REASSIGNING THE SOFT KEYS in TouchFlo - Touch Pro Tweek is cooked into this ROM. You can find it in START- TOOLS-TWEEKS-Touch Pro Tweek. I’ve used this application to successfully reassign the left soft key to Camera, but you can choose from a variety of programs and actions. [soft reset to apply changes]. Mapping the right soft key in Manila 2.5 I have not done, since it's dedicated to the "2.5 Home screen Menu".

I have not had luck using Advanced Configuration to perform the key reassignment. Also, the SoftKey Manager program [START-TOOLS-Softkey Manager] will only reassign the soft keys in Titanium, not TouchFlo.

...that would be the difference. They're both 21684...one has Manila 2.1 and one has 2.5. If you like that build of Windows Mobile and prefer Manila 2.1, stick with what you have.

Unless you're having issues with your current ROM setup, I would stick with what works best.

EDIT: first cup of coffee and I can't tell the difference between "their" and "they're".

Hello there I used this to configure my back key to get out of SMS when replying to messages

Step by step hardware keyboard fix.

Install RaphKbdControl_CDMA.CAB

It will install into Settings folder.
It will be listed as Keyboard Config.

Run it and hit Menu/Add key

Press the Back Key.
Scroll down to the Action field and chose "Run program"
Next scroll down to the Program field.
There are 2 options here. Typing it in is faster.
1. Browse to Windows folder and click messaging_client.exe or
2. Manually type in \Windows\messaging_client.exe
Hit Update config in the left softkey and test
Hit ok

It work for me hope it help
