This is probably either something really simple I'm overlooking or a bug.

On a fresh install the EZInput keyboard will have an overlay popup that shows you which button you are pressing and if you hold the button a list of alternate values are presented (for example the # buttons)

Every once in a while I'll notice that the overlay popup stops showing up. I can still press and hold the button to get the #s/alternate values, but there is no overlay popup feedback. Not on the initial press and not on the button hold.

Does anyone know what causes this? Is it some setting I'm inadvertently enabling? Is it a bug? What triggers it?

I'm using the Juicy47 keyboard to fix the hardware keyboard symbol problem. If I reinstall the Juicy47 keyboard the popup overlays come back.

Yea, I think every suggestion over the past couple of days has failed...I JUST had my ringer fail on me, and I've done nothing since the flash. I can't really establish a solid pattern of what would cause the conflict. Something must be running to fail the ringer that a soft reset seems to restore.

Unless MMS has some influence on it?!...I did just set up MMS.

New Guide for Nov 10th 23504 Manila 2.5 going up in 10 [since there are two builds, this will be in PDF only]. I prefer the 21864 build, since you can use custom taskbar icons and there's no need to fool with Quickmenu...I find it to be more limiting than finger friendly.

Manila 2.1 Guides updates for both builds coming next.

I have not once played with sms/mms on any of these ROMS. I don't do much MMS at all and my texts are working fine. I have, however, like everyone else had ringer issues. I don't think MMS mods/fixes are the cause because I havent made any. I think youre on the right track with file location... Im going to put all of my ringertones in the Windows\ directory and see what happens, then report back...

dude, its 320 MB... do you have some crazy DL MGR or something?

by the way, in regards to the ringer issue. I don't even have custom rings, so that should weed out another possible thing.
This rom as it is now, it good for people that can go around missing calls or just use their phone for data.

Could the ringer issue have anthing to do with the dialer skin? What if you disable it in advanced config and use the defaualt. I dont have 2.5 loaded up to try it and I am at work(can't flash). Anyone willing to try?

you are only using the default rings in the rom? No custom rings of any kind???
