Re: |HERM|ROM|6.5|WWE| ** EnergyROM 'Genesis' (23016) ** | Built Sep 20th | Manila 2

I installed this ROM 2 days ago on my Sprint TP. It runs smooth and pretty fast. I like it a lot more than others I've tried. The only things I have found that bugs me are -> when using the speakerphone, I have been unable to adjust the volume. It's always full blast. Also, this may be related, but usually when pushing the up/down buttons on the side there is an option for system and ringer volume... not on this. Anyone else seeing this?

Voice command is not included in NRG's ROM. Go to the 1st page and there should be a link there to download it.

Go into Start-Utilities-Tweaks-HTC Volume Control and change it there.

It's not included, but MSVC is in the thread's attatched files (as well as Threefaces guide I believe)

Not sure about speakerphone but f you goto Start-Utilities-Tweaks-HTC Volume Control you'll find options for separate/combined volume control.

Edit:Just checked speakerphone volume control, mine works, no problem.

Will it do anything if you select "Update" from the Weather Tab? Does the little GPS icon start turning and then it fails?
Just trying to get a better understanding of the problem is all.

What I'm wondering is, in the cases where enabling wifi all of the time helps, whether or not the tab is actually updating [turning on the data connection automatically and checking].

Thanks for the new info!
Yes, both are checked. I have tried both update from the weather tab, and also have also pressed the update on the upper right hand portion of the screen where is has last updated info. The little gps icon does turn, and then after a minute or so it just stops moving returning to the previously downloaded update (from when I had wifi on).

Yes, it updates every time with the wifi turned on. Just to make sure the data connection (without wifi) was active I would either check email, or manually enable data in comm.

The problem only seems to be related to "my location". If I select any city from the menus, they will update with no problem. I have tried with and without other cities updating with "my location".

Little extra info:
I have flashed a clean stock rom...flashed energy...hard reset...soft reset.

Thanks for the help!

Edit: Great guide by the way!

Vibrate on call connect worked, softly, on the last build, but is not enabled now...nor is the setting present in "Advanced" phone settings.

I haven't figured out how ot get it working...the reg edits that control it seem to be enabled, but the feature isn't happening.

Anyway, I saw the post and wanted to clarify.
hahahahah on the issue of vibration on initiating calls, I conquer..... Still nothing hahahahaha

Hmmm...that's a weird one. Not sure why it wouldn't be able to initiate a connection by itself when everything else is working proper.

Def appreciate the info...I feel like i'm missing something obvious here. I'm gonna have a few more pots of coffee and see if I can think of anything.

If you're feeling saucey, maybe try flashing a stock radio [if you ever even changed it]? Maybe it's a GPS glitch. ...that may be a stretch, but easy enough to try. I know when I update MyLocation, the data connection doesn't necessarily need to open at all and it works perfectly.

...glad you dig the Guide.

EDIT: or a non-stock radio. I'm reaching.

Yeah, I had the stock alltel radio installed...then went to 1.03.13F radio because I could not get a GPS lock at all with the new rom/radio update that HTC put out. If I had realized that the new rom/radio version SUCKED (for my area anyway) I would not have flashed it. On a side note, I wish someone could get the original touch pro alltel radio extracted!

All that being said, I will flash the stock radio/rom and then not flash the different radio before going to energy.

Who knows....maybe all those other people I have talked with are having the same problem as me because of a radio issue?! Not such a stretch.

I will have to wait to test later, and will report back what I find.

Thanks again ThreeFaces!

Yea, I'm into the radio switch up idea to see if that does it. I'm closer to DC than you, but love the Verizon radios around here in DC/Northern VA...they give me the best numbers. Hope it helps!

EDIT: as part of your testing, def switch up carriers!
