I am new at flashing ROMS to my Alltel Touch Pro, so sorry for the length and quantity of the questions. I have flashed several of the new ROMs to my phone and found that the EnergyRom Jan 18 2010 Standard Sense 2.1 Bld 21889 has been the most stable for my phone. However I have a few issues I would like to remedy.
1. Since Alltel has been sold to Verizon I am now on Verizon service, should I be using Verizon carrier provisions and radio on my Alltel phone?
2. I am getting an incall icon fairly regularly on my taskbar. However I have not had an in network roaming icon since the ROM flash and wondered if the incall icon has also become the roaming icon.
3. I would like to change the clock and possibly remove the black box background behind the clock and weather on the homescreen.
4. I would also like the Manila media player to start when using a bluetooth headset instead of the WMP.

Any help would be appreciated.

Has the SMS issue been resolved yet? I have a issue with SMS and I had to change to a different rom. The sms application frooze up constantly.

does anyone know if this rom is compatible with alltel. i flashed my tp right out of the box (warranty replacement), and now i am having troubles activating it. I have to activate manually, usually by dialing ##000000 but this is not working on this rom. i live out of alltel's service area, so i always am on nationwide roaming.

SMS issue? No sms issue here

I cant open any messages (sms, or email) when I click on a specific message the wait cursor pops up for a sec, then nothing.

Any ideas?

It's hard to get any ideas when you don't let us know what version you're running. I'm assuming you're running a 2.5 version. I don't personally use this version, but I'm pretty sure the HTC messaging is disabled due to being slow and buggy. Have you tried tapping all messages? If messaging is disabled in 2.5, this is the only way to get to your messages. As for email, I don't have any idea there. It should work either way.

This happened to me on a different ROM. I cleared the e-mail account, deleted the inbox on my storage card and did a soft reset.

If anyone was having issues wit their "my location" updates, I found a weird work-around that worked for me instantly and I wanted to see if it worked for anyone else. Just turn on (but don't connect) wi-fi and bluetooth.
