having the same problems here along with sending MMS sometimes causes a soft reset. GPS has lost its accuracy (700 meters on fresh install, 1000 meters with PPST cab. On 9/22 build, i can see myself walking room to room using google maps). Last but not least, caused Sashimi to crash. Going back to 9/22 build for now and reflash 10/25 this weekend doing it the right way according to threefaces guide.

Yes, you will on 23081. That is the build from MS, not the Chef. The current build is known for freezing with messaging, email, MMS, SMS it varies between users. There is no significant functional difference bewtween this and 21864. Just the layout and buttons, etc. The '864 is traditional, stable energy ROM.
A few tips (and these vary user to user too):
Manila SMS seems to be more stable than MS messaging.
When sending MMS if you send the pic, DONT exit the album, I crash almost every time. When you are looking at the pic you just sent, hit the hard Home key then close the album with Showcase or Task Manager.
This may sound silly, but go slow. For me the quicker I try to jump message to message the more likely it is to crash.
I've only had MMS crashes and the above "fix" works for me. I use manila SMS and never crash. I go in and out of emails, at what I consider a normal rate and never crash. (There, I just bit my toungue so I dont jinx myself )
If you are seeing significant crashes you may want to try a stock re-flash to see if that helps (hard reset/flash stock ROM/hard reset/flash energy/hard reset)

Is there a particular reason my TP isn't downloading my emails anymore?
I have about 600 in my Inbox (all saved completely to the TP) and the only time the download is after I hard reset it (and it works 1 time) and then stops. Do I have too many or is it a problem with the last couple versions of the ROM?

Okay thanks to all of you who messaged about testing the Android OS for me to see if you are able to make or receive calls. Here are the instructions. Okay I did most of the work as far as the startup text and the rootfs and zimages and they are all attached. What you are going to do is download and unzip this file onto your computer. If it doesnt work the first time just keep trying because the site has been messing up but eventually you will get it.

Then you are going to download the files Ive attached and you are going to replace the files in the download from the link above with the files Ive attached. which should be the rootfs.img and the startup text. and the zimage. After you have replaced the ones already in the folder with the ones Ive attached Then move the folder onto the root of your 'MEMORY CARD'. Once you have done this...you are going to copy all the files in the folder. Not FOLDERS but all the FILES. Things that end in .img or .conf. All the files that look like those type of files copy them to the root of your memory card. There should be 9 all together that you are going to copy and paste onto the ROOT OF YOUR MEMORY CARD. After you have copied these...open the folder that contained all of these and run the icon called HARET....now wait about 2 or 3 minutes and your phone should run the linux which is already included and then it will buzz twice...run through something that looks like command prompt. and then the Android OS will start up. NOTE: Your phone should be charging while this is taking place. Ive ran it without the charger but it runs faster while plugged up. Wait for the OS to start and then follow the prompts to get it started. Please post or message me with the details on weather you are able to use your phone like normal. I have not been able to test anything other than the interface itself and it is running nicely. I just dont know if I can call or text being that my phone isnt active. Please let me know how this works for you. I am very interested to know if you can call or even text. Remember a soft reset will bring your phone back to the windows mobile interface you had before. And then just running the HARET icon will take you the Android OS. Also I have not found a fix in order to play sounds. Im not sure if sound even works. I am more concerned about being able to text or call someone as of now.

Someone did a good job porting this onto the gsm phones because they had some android phones to go by but cdma was a little difficult being that the one android phone just came out last month. Ive heard that the gsm version can download and use the apps like normal and so I thought so why not the cdma?? So I took the liberty of changing the rootfs, zimage and the startup text in order for it to at least run on my TP. Once the hero is fully ported than I believe we will have a fully functional android rom. Hopefully. So please just let me know what bugs you find.
