Re: "JD's Revenge" G53.0 ROM and Easy Ask Kitchen

Hey JD... I have to say that your kitchens are WAY WAY better than the rest in terms of stability and DEFINATELY in terms of battery life. I really don't know what you are doing different. I would just beg to ask that you come out with some of these newer builds soon. I was hoping for the following:

1. The better looking colored icons.
2. The ability to remove titanium all together. (I was thinking about the possibility of using Mobile Shell and would rather not have the other home apps wasting space)

Thanks.

Yeah, honestly there is no one best radio, and it varies greatly by your location, among other things. I use the Telus v1.04 radio with the kitchen, and I actually get better service with this rom than I have with other roms I've tried. Haven't yet tried the US Cellular v1.07 on this kitchen. However, I have asked JD about why he recommended the v1.07 radio, but never got a response.

As far as the poll interval, you can actually make that higher. 20000 is a threshold, you could change it to 25000, or even higher. The higher you go, the little less accurate your battery would be (because it is polling less often), but you would get a little bit more battery life.

Re: "JD's Revenge" G53.0 ROM and Easy Ask Kitchen

i have an issue with roms that i build using the latest kitchen. when i power off the phone, it will restart on its own. turning it off a 2nd time results in teh phone staying off. its only happens sporatically, but seems to happen every time i try to turn it off while in the car. i make sure not to accidentally press the power button after turning it off the first time. about the only thing i can think of that is a constant is that this occurs when i turn it off b/c i am in a no service area (at&t only) and do not want it to sit and search for service all day,

Its really easy to take out titanium.

Take out these oems from the sys folder in the kitchen
CHome
CHome_Lang_0409
bronze
Bronze_DPI_192
BronzeEA

That should set you up with no Titanium. Ive done the same thing since Im using my OEM for xbmod's v1d TP2 manila.

What carrier do you use. If not sprint did you set up for your carrier. JD has the rom/kitchen set up for sprint but you can use it on other carriers with a carrier cab.
As far as I know thats the case. Im on sprint so Ive never had an issue.

Just use dcd's latest carrier cab and you should be all set. If your not on sprint.

At the "Completed" message I removed the battery for 30 seconds, put it back in, and hard reset.

Went through the first time setup waiting
After the Align Screen prompt it rebooted???
Went through the first time setup waiting again
Align Screen again...
Set the date - Ah rebooted again???

Customization started running - rebooted again - but not sure if it was due to the same weird thing or because customization was done

now it seems to be ok - but that was really weird - I had never experienced that before...

Any thoughts?
