I'm mobile right now, so kinda limited on my resourcs, but i'm pretty sure you can. Cornelious, you got any info on this?

yea he pmed me and i told him how to go about doing it. basically you just need to get the nbh outta the shipped rom and the relocker, then flash the shipped rom and then flash the relocker.

You don't have to unlock your touch pro to use on another network. You have to reprogram it. Unlocking it will allow to to flash custom roms and radios. There is a custom cricket rom that will make the process a little easier for you, so you might as well go ahead and unlock your phone. This thread describes how to unlock your phone via the microSD card, without the use of a computer. The main unlocking/relocking thread is here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503

These are the instructions you are looking for here http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1507276

Here's another good, but brief, set off instructions that will help you do what you want http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1497899

Thanks a million. I finally got the courage to try flashing my ROM (Touch Pro) from the card. Worked like a charm! Installed the Mighty Rom and it is awesome.... so much faster and no bloatware! Time to start cooking I guess.

AHH SWEET!! I could never Flash or unlock from my SD card. Never had a problem with Vista and Syncing. But I thought doing it from the card might be safer. What happens if you lose your sync while in the middle of Flashing?? Is your phone a brick?

Everyone else seems to be able to do it so i couldnt figure out what was wrong. Finally i saw the SD was in FAT, not FAT32. Now flashing finally works from my SDcard. Im assuming Unlocking would too. All thanks to this Thread.

Besides the question about what would happen if you lost your sync during a flash.
Can you lock your phone with a custom ROM installed? I assume you could but not sure.

I'll take a stab at your questions.
I'm not sure what would happen if you lost sync during a rom flash, but i'm pretty sure you'd still be able to recover just by putting it into bootloader mode and flashing again. If you were flashing the locker/relocker and lost sync, then that might end up in a brick.

I don't see why you'd want or need to lock with a custom rom, but I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work.

Sorry...that's the best i could do.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

your right about the failed flash all you need to do is flash again, as for locking a custom rom, it would not boot up.

When you unlock you will not lose anything. But when you flash a rom it will erase everything, but it won't mess with anything on the microSD card.

I have a verizon TP and I am trying to unlock from my SD card. You say on the first post that i have to get the "nbh outta the verizon unlocker." I am not sure how to do this because the verizon unlocker is an RUU on cmonex's page. Do you know where I can get an nbh to unlock a verizon phone?

Thanks, you guys are awsome

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

Folks,
Here is my steps to unlock HTC Touch Pro via SDHC card. It took approx 4 hrs for me to figure out as I and problem with ActiveSync and Windows Mobile software on Vista.

How to Unlock HTC Touch Pro and Upgrade to MightROM5 via SD Card
================================================== ===============

Phase I
-------

Connect HTC Touch Pro via USB cable to PC ( activesync or Window Mobile)

Copy c:\HTC Touch Pro\UNLOCK-STEPS\SSPL-Manual to Phone memory (Do not copy on SD Card)

Format any size of Micro SDHC card using FAT32 format

Copy C:\HTC Touch Pro\UNLOCK-STEPS\RAPHIMG.nbh to SD CARD (only this file must exist on card. It should be approx 516KB in size)

Put above SDHC card in memory slot

Press Power button + down volume button + press reset button

Screen should say - press power button to unlock

Now phone is unlocked

Phase II
--------

Remove SDHC card from the slot and put back in to computer

Format SDHC card using FAT32 format

Copy C:\HTC Touch Pro\UNLOCK-STEPS\RRU_signed.nbh file to SDHC card (129MB size)

Rename RRU_signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh

put SDHC card to memory slot of HTC Touch Pro

Press Power button + down volume button + press reset button

Upgrade Process should start

After approx 10 min, Upgrade will be completed

IT should say OK on screen

remove SDHC card hard reset the phone by removing battery

follow the screen prompt to set the phone

That's all.

Enjoy !!!!!

I decided to post this as I spent lot more time to figure out.

yes, if you would have read the full first page you can see that I listed how to also flash from the sd card, its exactly the same concept, you just don't need to use the sspl.exe at that point since you would now be using the HSPL.

if you wish to create a guide that is great, but please make it in your own thread, especially since I don't really want to add any rom specific bias, and I espcially don't want to confuse anyone on rehashed info.

OFFTOPIC PLEASE HELP, htc touch vouge unlocking?

*************************************************
I have already unlocked my Touch PRO. (VIA active sync method)
but i need your help guys please come together on this for me!
*************************************************

Ok, lets talk about UNLOCKING our phone!

NOW I have a touch vouge (my touch pro is just fine :) ) i would like to unlock the HTC touch vouge, but the stupid USB connector on the phone is broken. So i can NOT use the active sync method

The usb connector CAN only charge the phone, but the active sync does NOT work!

So I used the manual.exe form the memory on device (found on this thread/post), and went to http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370
to find the .nbh file for unlocking the phone.

I put the .nbh file for the touch vouge in the 1gb SD card formated to fat32.

Than i ran the manual.exe file from the main memory of the device,

The phone locks up and does not respond, i have to softreset with styles.

Any idea or help please?

Can we use the SSPL-Manual.exe on the HTC touch vouge to unlock ?

cornelious2 05-17-2009 07:54 PM

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

the vogue is not the same type of phone as the touch pro, you need the pieces from the vogue unlocker if you want to unlock the vogue. the pieces are not compatable.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

Thanks for putting this up Cornelious. I'll go find that Hard-SPL thread shoot CMONEX a thanks too.

I did have 1 hitch though: I had an error something about
"MicroP-Wrong Platform" after running "SSPL-Manual.exe".
I tried my 2 GB mico SD and my 8 GB MicroSD and had the same result with both.
Both cards had a good bit of data and PalmOS and Windows Mobile programs on them.
I'm sure the 8 GB has to be formatted FAT32. I think the 2 GB was another one (FAT12 or FAT16) but I'm really not sure.

I just re-formatted the 2 GB in a WinXP machine as FAT32 using my OCZ Trifecta SD-card-sized-microSD-reader/writer (very cool gadget. My 8 GB microSD works in it too!) and all was well.

cornelious2 05-18-2009 11:11 PM

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

glad everything worked out for you, sometimes the sd card get slightly corrupted and can go loopy especially the lower quality ones or possibly something else wierd, I only use my 8gb for flashing and unlocking so all I could really think of is a compatibiliy issue/ formatting.

I know its not the same, the .ROM file is diffrent!

I was useing the VOUGE ROM, but the manual.EXE from the touchPRO,

Where can we get a manual.exe (the progam you have been running on the HTC PRO main memory) but i need it for the vouge phone!

I already tested the Manual.exe for the HTC PRO but the .EXE file is not compatable!

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

try sspl from the mogul (remember you really stand a good chance at messing up your device using low level items from different phones without knowing what your doing). those are more similar models.

I've been torturing myself trying to flash from the sd since my computer crashed. I know I'm unlocked because I already have a custom rom, but do I need to unlock a different way to flash from sd? When I go into bootloader with RAPHIMG in the root of the sd, it flashes a real quick message saying no image file then stays on the rainbow bootload and won't do anything. Are there files I'm supposed to put in main memory on the phone? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You don't need to unlock a different way for this to work. And there's no other files you need. Is your card formatted to FAT32? Are you renaming the RUU_Signed.nbh file to RAPHIMG.nbh? If the file extensions are hidden, then it would need to be named to RAPHIMG

Also, the touch pro doesn't like certain memory cards. Usually bigger ones, like over 8 gigs. So, try a different mem card if you have one.

I,ve tried 4 different sd cards. a 512mb, 2 1gb, and a 2gb all formatted fat32. I pull thr RUU_signed.nbh to the root of the storage card and renamed it RAPHIMG.nbh in caps and out of caps. I'm sure its a stupid mistake I'm making, I just can't figure out what it is.

cornelious2 05-27-2009 05:17 PM

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

if it looks like RAPHIMG.nbh on your phone try renaming it to RAPHIMG the file explorer hides extensions so if you see one that usually means you named it wrong.

I've tried it as RAPHIMG.nbh, RAPHIMG., and RAPHIMG. I'm going to try them all again. Do the file attributes matter as far as hidden or system only file?

cornelious2 05-27-2009 08:35 PM

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

no, one thing I remember when i first got mytp is the auto correct seemed to want to add an l and made it ralphimg took me a few attempts to realize it did that to me. when you enter bootloader is it not even recognizing anything? get total commander and find the file with that, its a ppc file explorer replacement and it shows the full file names. its really only one of a few things.

1 the sd card is not formated fat 32 (use a pc and a card reader toformat)
2 the file is named wrong itmight be some insanely small detail easy to overlook
3 the file is on the sd card, but was placed in a folder (usually a subconcious attempt to organise)
