Can you recommend any Roms that look like the stock Sprint Rom but have all the Tweaks and Speed like for instance Mighty Rom or Juicy Rom?

I agree with puff on trying lots of roms. I am partial to YaY 4 Juggs Roms, but lots of people seem to like mighty mike as well. I keep trying to make my own, but they never seem to turn out quite as good as the masters.

Will it be necessary or recommended for me to also change to the verizon rom? I am unlocking my alltel tp and I want to use it on the verizon network. Also do I need any other software to make sure I have the vz prl, sid, etc? Thanks in advance.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

since I have sprint that question is up for anyone to answer. but I assume any custom rom with the verizon carriar cab should work fine.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

Thanks,

Besides unlocking it, is there any other software that I will need to make sure I have all vz settings? I am new to this if you could't already tell. :)

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

since I have a sprint TP and sprint service I am not really sure, I think the carrier cab takes care of all that but I could be wrong.

Is there a size limit on storage cards that can be formatted? I just a got a 8gb high capacity storage card and i dont want to mess it up but i want it formatted so that I dont have to keep switching storage cards just to flash roms on my phone..

cornelious2 03-19-2009 10:43 PM

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

I use an 8 gig for my flashing, its all good. it used to be a 2 gig limit, but that changed back in the mogul days.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

Just wanted to say that I got a phone call saying I needed to come into work. Then a phone call saying I can pick up my phone. So I got my replacement phone and was ready to flash with my SD card. Then I remember I have to unlock it first. I was extremely sad that I had to wait. So I was bored on my phone and wanted to see if I can unlock it with my SD card. So I searched and found this.

So I was able to unlock and flash a ROM to my phone all from my phone while at work. That is amazing!

Thanks to you and everyone for making this all possible.

You should give KK's ROM a try. Quick and loaded!!!

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

Allright guys I need some help. I'm on my second TP and was trying to unlock it tonight.

I followed all of these instructions to the "T". After unlocking I tried to go back to the bootscreen to verify the unlock....and now I am stuck in a rebooting cycle.

This is what the tricolor screen reads:

Security unlocked RUUNBH

RAPH800
SPL-0.37.cmonex
microP-hermann (LED) v0c85
microp-hermann (key) v0685
psoc-raph stage_evt v20

Upgrade ROM code Error
Please try again

I'd like to add that I am working from a MAC. I can't get the phone to boot into the operating system and therefore I can't establish n activesync connection either...ARGH...HELP!!! I will check back in the AM.

Thanks in advance.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

i am having the same exact problem as the poster above~~!!!!!
it gets stuck in bootloader mode endlessly. is there a way out of this? i have tried three sprint signed raphimg.nbh, and still get this error. can i just download a stock sprint rom, name it as raphimg.nbh, place it on the SD card and let the bootloader update from that?

i am really worried that the phone is bricked, and obviously im not the only one experiencing the issue. SOME ONE PLEASE HELP!

Well...while my TP is flashing I thought I would document my progress...I am now trying to flash the Stock ROM. Will post my results. I need my phone back at least functioning.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

Another quick update...I used the Stock Sprint ROM found here ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Raphael/Users/ImC...RUU_dumped.rar
to get me out of the endless loop. I just checked and confirmed that my phone is still unlocked.

THANKS goes out to all of the people that make this site one of the best for resources and information. ;)

So if I have that error screen hotspace is talking about, how do I flash from there?

I'm having the same issue as him and I don't know how to add that download when I get into that endless loop. Can someone please help?

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

just get the nbh out of the stock rom link. name it RAPHIMG.nbh and put it on the sd card. once you have it that far hold volume down and power while you softreset. it will say press power to flash the new rom. do so and you will be good to go.

Beejis 03-28-2009 10:45 AM

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

ok I couldn't do it last night because I couldn't find a memory card reader to put that file on my card to replace the other. Can I get someone .zip it up for me cause everytime I download that file it is called literally "downloadedfile" and I rename it to RAPHIMG.nbh (not sure if it makes a difference if I have to completely rename it like that but it isn't working).

Oh and when I press volume down, power and softreset, can it be on any screen i.e. turned off, or colored screen? Because when I try it in those places (which is all I can go now) it never gives me the option of loading anything, it just automatically starts loading but then it quickly says no file found (hence why I might need help with someone uploading a copy of it) and always goes back to the colored screen.

Thanks for your help so far cornelious, I REALLY hope I didn't ruin anything...

Beejis 03-28-2009 12:01 PM

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

I was able to get out of it. It had to be the file I was downloading because it never said anything.nbh, just downloadedfile. Once I put MightyROM 4.16's .nbh file to the root of my card and renamed it RAPHIMG.nbh it gave me the option of flashing which is a nice rom btw! Thanks for your help!!

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

Im glad you got it. So it looks like after unlocking this people need to flash a new rom custom or not to get out of the loop cycle (weird that I never got into that deathloop) I wonder if It has to do with the fact that I already unlocked it once before....

thats because its finding the RAPHIMG.nbh file on your sd card, move/rename/delete that then check.

I would suggest to move it or place it in a folder on your desktop just for future use with the name of the rom as the folder just in case. I try not to delete anything for safety reasons.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

You know what will be great, If someone did a youtube video tutorial on this. Solve a lot of misunderstandings. I would love to see a tutorial for these kind of things.

Hey anyone know whats the fastest and most reliable rom to use. I keep hearing about Mighty Rom is that the best?

Edit: This is quite easy to do (unlocking from SD) and I prefer this over any other method.

I just Flashed PhantomROM and Its great. I will check out Mighty Rom another time, I just wanted to try 6.5

I'm using Silence Rom 9 and so far this is my favorite (super fast!), but everyone will have a different preference of course.

Re: unlock your TP via the SD card

so cornelious2 i finally got to test your unlock method on my replacement for the 6800...

and it was too simple, i took the 2 files and put them on the 1GB card
then I copied the SSPL to main memory and ran it, and I was shocked at how quickly it was done...
it was almost instantaneous !!!

I did not get stuck after unlock I was able to boot fine and it never touched a computer prior to unlocking...
then i took another card prepped with a custom ROM already on root and removed stock !!! :D

I think my problem had to do with how I was downloading my files to put on the root of the storage card. Ever since I have been using my phone and pocket rar to extract the files I have had zero problems. (I was using a mac for downloading my files before, not sure if that is why though).
