use an sd card reader and using windows right click and click format. if you don't have a reader, you can put your phone in file storage mode, but if you get in the unbootable cycle that rarely happens (like 1 in 15ish odds) you will need some method of putting the rest of the files on your sd card to break the loop.

This seems like the easiest way to unlock the touch pro but it's not working for me.

1. I download SSPL and put it in the root of the phone
2. I download the RAPHIMG and put in the root of the storage card
3. I open SSPL on the phone and it takes me to the tri color, mind you I still have it plugged into my computer so it says USB in the Grey Box. It also has SECURITY UNLOCKED on top. It says all this too.

Hey everybody,

My keyboard stopped working so I am trying to relock my phone, already flashed back to stock rom. Had many errors trying to relock via usb and activesync, so I gave this a go. Put the relocker straight unto a brand new 1gb card freshly formatted to fat 32. Went to bootloader mode, found the image, saw status bar go across screen, all happened lightening quick, but now it is stuck on a grey screen that says loading, been there for about 6-7 minutes. Suggestions?

If you are still stuck on the bootloader screen, try to cancel the load. this might get you back to the tricolor screen. start the flash then. It should clear up any issues.

by now it should have finished. it can hang up to like 10 minutes sometimes before it says successful. if It hasn't softreset your phone. then pull the battery, remove the sd card and enter bootloader. if you see Cmonex your still unlocked if not it worked okay and just hung at the end but past anything important.

Okay... So this worked fine for me, but how do you make it verizonable? Or maybe i should ask, since i unlocked the sprint touch pro... does that enable me to begin the process of making it available for use on vzw network? I have some issues with my vzw phones and i've been getting replacements sent to me (6 total in 6 months). They might make an exception for me as far the esn goes according to csr.

That video has the pc method, and its also for the diamond, so be very VERRY careful you get the right files if you follow it, since the devices are not 100% interchangeable.

oK SO YOU GIVE A SPRINT UNSIgned rom and then say not to use it to use a signed rom. Well since it was in same post like a dumb butt I did not read it till after I re-locked it. So I am stuck at the reboot grey screen says loading but nothing ever happens then when I take the sd card out I get the Upgrade rom code error. What do I do now?

put a shipped rom on your sd card and flash again. the stock links were for unlocking purposes only.

Signed or unsigned? I had custom rom on it but I am sending back to sprint so I tried to put stock rom on it I did and tested and it worked. I synced it and then tried to lock it to send back to sprint when i did it went to grey screen and said loading would not past that. so i took out sd card and soft reset and it stays at multi color screen and has rom upgrade error. It does show locked i think it is not showing the CMONEX on it so I think it is locked but now wont go into bootup or load phone.

ok loaded stock rom back on sd card same thing still loads to grey screen and says loading.

RELOCKING

Relocking is actually MUCH easier than unlocking. There is really just two steps.

step 1.) Flash a stock SHIPPED rom (not dumped while a dumped rom is just the stock rom, the certificats are signes wrong and once you flash the locker it will give an invalid rom error.

step 2.) flash the relocker this again is a flash exactly like a normal rom flash. after these two steps are done, you are relocked.

no need for any crazy things like the SSPL or what not. Though a few people have mentioned hitting the unbootable cycle when relocking just like when unlocking. if this happens, just flash the stock shipped rom again.[/quote]

For those who have a bricked phone, stuck in a loading screen, or bootloader screen, cant flash or lock/unlock with a sdcard, ...this ROM helped me get my phone working agian after 8 hours of trying to figure out

flashing ANY compatible rom when your in the boot cycle gets you out. its in the guide already. an alternate option is to connect your phone to a computer that active sync works on and use an RUU to get you out. Also don't be afraid to PM me directly if you need help, ive helped quite a few people that were confused. even in person sometimes if their close enough.

I'm trying to flash my first custom ROM via my SD card, but I've ran into an issue ...

I have RAPHIMG.nbh (renamed from the Mighty ROM I downloaded) in the root of my SD card... and I copied over SSPL-Manual.exe into the root of my device (not card)

But when I try to enter the loader (by hitting VOL DOWN + POWER + RESET) its stuck at the "Loading..." gray screen...

Any suggestions?

Is your phone unlocked?
Also, you only use those three buttons for when you don't use the SSPL-Manual.exe file.

to verify that you are unlocked properly, you need to remove mem card, then put phone into bootloader mode by pressing the three buttons you mentioned, then look at the spl version. it should say 0.37.cmonex if you did it right.

And... nothing else.... I have to reset it.

you only need one nbh file. the unlocker. that's it.

you put the unlocker nbh file on the memcard. put the sspl-manual.exe file on the device. open file explorer on your phone and open the sspl-manual.exe file and the unlocking will begin.

ok, I extracted the RAPHIMG.nbh from Unlocker.zip and placed it in the home directory ... along with SSPL-Manual.exe ...

But when I select it - it loads the gray screen, but its stuck at "Loading..."

Well after it first worked. I installed HTC Touch PRO NATF v4.7 - Manila Edition Rom.

And it now just loops that rom and hard reset just reloads that rom. Is there anyway to have something load from an sd card to load a different rom since I don't get active sync connection or anything from the roms failure. Which is odd because everything went through flawlessly. Just sucks because my phone is basically unusable at the moment.

just remove the mem card and put it into bootloader mode and connect to computer and flash the shipped rom for your carrier. I sent you a PM

one other trick I like to do is just keep the stock rom on a spare sd card. I use that at time when I help people flash their phones. Honestly most people have more than one card since the 1gb one that comes with it just isn't enough space!

First off all, thanks Cornelious2 for this simple guide to unlocking and flashing roms.

Here is a little problem I ran into trying to relocking my phone back to stock. I followed your steps with stock sprint rom you offered on your post. The stock rom loaded fine but when I tried to lock it with the Sprintrelocker, it just gets stuck in the loading screen. If I take out the card and reset, it reads:

I tried every nbh file I had to get it out of this loading screen. Also I can't explore through usb since active sync does not connect to it. I also tried to connect to a dfferent computer but no luck. I've been trying to google and search on these forums specifically on this problem but I've yet to find one. Could you please help me since I need to take it back to Sprint to get my keyboard fixed or get a replacement.

Did you try the nbh file in the shipped rom? Your phone is locked now, so you can't use a custom rom. Use winrar to extract the nbh file out of the sprint shipped rom exe and it should work. Or, you can do it this way. Hook it up to a computer and run the shipped rom exe and it should flash fine.
