Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

I'm wondering out loud... but, after flashing the latest HTC/Sprint ROM (released end of Sept), and then using the relocker via SD - I got into the boot loader screen with an invalid rom error. I had to reflash the latest sprint image.

Is it possible that the hash the relocker is looking for is an older shipped rom, or does it not matter, just so long as it's a shipped rom?

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

I relocked using this sd method following this link http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=67954 and I ended up with Loading.... bootloader and nothing comes up, I can acces the phone and everything but I can access the bootloader anymore its just say Loading.... I tried to use the RUU method via my pc but when it get to the boot loader is just stays there with loading...and I get the error in my pc screen, is there any solution to get back to access the bootloader again?

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

Make sure you move (or rename) the file on the SD card - or it will try to load it with a locked loader...

delete the raphimg.nbh file from your sd card and replace it. or if you just want to see the tricolor screen just make sure there is no raphimg.nbh file on the root of the sd card.

its been said MANY times security unlocked will always be there its the 0000 your looking for to make sure its locked vs it saying cmonex at that location.

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

I'm trying to flash but having a problem:

After unlocking, I can't get normal boot loader to find the image file.

I've unlocked successfully.. it says comonex.
I press vol down, power, and soft resset but it gets stuck on tri color.

-yes I have reformated to fat 32 before trying this
-yes it is named correctly and in the correct location
-I do not have anything else on the memory card

Could somebody possibly tell me what I'm doing wrong?

cornelious2 10-13-2009 08:43 PM

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

honestly your looking at something wrong that you say you did. if its formatted properly, and the nbh file is named and placed properly it WILL find it and prompt you to flash.

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

I've reread the instructions 4 times and I've double checked everything 4 times (or more). I'm guessing that maybe I'm using a particular brand of memory card that is not compatible or something.

I didn't mention it but... I did even try nuestorage to format fat32

are you renaming the ruu_signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh? also, try just RAPHIMG cause you might have extensions hidden in your file explorer.

it only takes a minute. sounds like you're stuck in the bootloader loop. You need to just flash the sprint shipped rom and you'll be back to normal.

It sounds like Sprint would then know that your phone had been unlocked and could possibly give them leeway to try and deny someone a claim based on that. I guess clearly it doesn't matter as long as it's locked when they get it? Maybe they just really don't care.

Anyway, first time to the thread. I was wanting to flash the latest update to my ROM, but I'm at work. After having read the thread I've decided to wait till I get home so I can save everything on my SD card. I'll just have to wait and flash from my PC. I'll be trying this soon though for future use. Thanks for starting the thread. It seems well-written and thorough.

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

even when the phone is new in box the spl says security unlocked no need to worry about that

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

Hmm. Im trying to do an update got the RAPHIMG.nbh on the SD card and went into the bootloader. Everything worked fine until it stopped at about 25% on the Update in Progress bar. Its been sitting there for about 10 minutes what should I do???

EDIT: Nevermind, It did fail to update but luckily it kicked back to the bootloader and I was able to use usb to update to the original sprint rom then I was able to flash to Energy ROM. Its my own fault, I actually forgot I had upgraded to the Mighty ROM...once switching back to the original sprint ROM I remembered how terrible it is. Also, I love the facebook integration! I was able to get my GF a tough pro 2 for $199 (we are on SERO) (I wasnt eligble for upgrade :() With Energy ROM our interfaces are very similar though im still jealous over her screen heh.

the upgrade rom code error is a common thing when relocking the phone. you just have to flash a shipped rom to fix it.
you have 2 options here.
flash from computer or flash via mem card.
download the SHIPPED sprint rom from the sticky here or get the newest one from the htc website here. then extract this file to get the ruu_signed.nbh file. then rename that file to RAPHIMG.nbh and put it on your mem card and flash away.
or
remove mem card from phone, then, with your phone on the tri-color screen, connect the usb cable and open the shipped rom exe (same links i gave you)

So I had my first SD flash! No hiccups! I did have one question. Can I store all my ROM NBH files in a folder on my SD card and then just transfer the one I want to flash to the root of the card?

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

This is a nice sized thread and I see questions are asked alot so i have a few quick tips that solved my problems..

- if you relock and get stuck in the "loading..." pull your memcard and soft reset. It should come to the tri color screen. If your spl says 0.37.0000 or 0.40.0000 then your phone is relocked.

- I dont have an sd card adapter so I had no way of putting the stock rom back on my phone. So instead of reflashing I did a hard reset. The hard reset should only work if you FIRST FLASHED THE STOCK ROM, like the instructions told you. I took the battery out replaced it. Then I pressed volume down, enter (the middle circle button on the trackpad), then I pressed power and held for a few seconds. Then a screen came up saying if you want to hard reset press volume up. I pressed it and hard reset my phone from the "Loading... Loop" to a fresh stock rom..

- Also search the thread with keywords.. I searched with "loading.." and my spl number and got results much faster than asking a question..

If I posted anything wrong please correct it

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

My USB phone to PC connection recently stopped working however the phone still charges when plugged in via USB.

Since USB does not work I am unable to flash via pc. I found another thread with mention of my exact same USB problem, suggesting different cables and other solutions which have not resolved my issue. I plan to flash a shipped rom back onto the phone, however without being able to connect via usb i cannot extract the nbh from the shipped rom's exe and copy it over. Can someone link me to the shipped NBH file and perhaps update the first post with it as well for others that might have my same problem?

cornelious2 10-24-2009 10:34 PM

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

use an sd card reader, or puff linked the stock rom in this thread someware OR just download the stock rom from the link and use pocket rar to extract the nbh.

My guess is probably yes. once the unlocker is out that will be one of my first tasks to figure out. I got my TP2 a couple days ago so i am ready when the unlocker is and should have a guide in the works.

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

ok the reason im doing all this is because for some freaking reason my touch pro from alltel was connecting via usb before i flashed it sprint, but now that its on sprint i can connect it via usb anymore to flash to cricket. well once i use the sspl it come up raph .25 then i hold down the buttons and restart then imediatlely shows comex but no "press power to flash" any way so i thought getting it to comex was good enough. well i want to flash it back to alltel stock so i renamed the nbh properly removed everything else off the sd card put that on. when i go to hold down the button again it comes up very quickly "no image file" then goes back to comex so its not loading the alltel stock that i have on my sd card. i have formated properly otherwise the first step wouldnt have worked. am i forgetting something i mean i put the a couple of different roms on the sd card and renamed them but still does the same thing, please help?

you either have the file names wrong (as posted in the first post its really easy to accidently name it wrong) or your not formatted correctly if there is literally nothing else on the sd card then theres really no risk of placing it in a folder accidently so it will be one of those two options. if while in file explorer the file looks like raphimg.nbh try removing the .nbh if it still doesn't work, try using nuestorage to format your sd card.

follow my guides on the first post for the details but step 1 flash stock SHIPPED rom
step two relock
DONE
if you get a rom error then flash stock again (this is were having 2 sd cards can come in handy to leave the stock rom on a spare to easily flash a second time.)

Re: unlock, flash and even relock your TP via the SD card!

ok i have tried just about everything the thing. the thing that gets me is in there first step when loading the unlocker it doesnt prompt me to press power to flash? i just goes straigh to the comex splash screen .37? but in between it switching from the .25 to .37 it says no image file! really quick. well how did it unlock from sd if there is no image file? i formated using windows xp and it formated it properly but i thought i tried getting nuestorage on the tp but once you install and soft reset the program doesnt show under settings at all? do you have a version that will work with this device? i dont know what else to do
