I am about done with my diamond ROM and kitchen. Once that is done I need to figure out how to make them universal. One kitchen two devices, 8 CE os'es.

I have not officially posted 21015 or 21018. Does anyone think they are solid enough for the website? If so I will post them tonight. If not I will just let them be.

As well, I am hunting out new CE OS builds to play with. DJSIVA showed me a nice link with some new stuff so I will play around with that soon. I hope to post something to play with by the end of the upcoming weekend. My apology for no recent updates. The vacation was nice. The blizzard we left and then came back to sucked!

1st off welcome back Scott

I've tested w/a few builds while U were gone, including 21028 using the PPC Kitchen w/ drellisdee's packages. IMHO 21018 is the best of the bunch so far, very responsive, stable. The AS/Exchange "push" problem can be fixed using the cab drellisdee posted in this thread, post#135:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=57744&page=4

The other minor issue with multi-threaded SMS creation has not been resolved, but doesn't seem to be an show-stopper unless you send an SMS to multiple addresses and expect a separate thread to be created for each person sent to, a multi-party SMS. This is also discussed in post#147/48 in the above thread.

So, I would say a big yes to 21018 and keep an eye out for other builds greater than 21028.

Also, you might want to look into adopting Bepe's new kitchen: seems there's enough new architecture and features to make it worth while, and the modularity of packages I've seen so far may make it easier for you to support both Diamond and Pro on multiple vendors:

Re: *21 Feb* UPD 15: SSK 1.5M *8* OS Kitchen inc WM6.5 Build 21159 and OS 21015 ROM -

Both the Touch Pro 2 Notification Manager Enhancements and the Menu Enhancements are running on the SSK 1.5 I have installed on my gimped VZW TP.

They might make good defaults for a Rom, or at least included in the SSK folder?

Menu Enhancements (Seems faster than Finger Friendly)

Thank you much! I will look into 21018. Which build was the best? The one FPOS put on my FTP server or was there another build on rapid share?

21028 is the only one that I can get my hands on...

21032 is supposed even better... 21028 is found in Calu's 21028 Kitchen.

Edit: 21028 > 21018... IMO

Kitchen requests

Ok, here is what I am thinking...

I am redoing the core of kitchen. Using Sprint Diamond 2.0 ROM as core. Realigning the selections. Adding a bunch of junk you will never use after you flash with it for the first time ;c) Added back in sensor apps, took out the today screen options as they screwed to much crap up anyways and its easier to modify your boot TSK with the confg.txt now because I upgraded the autorun to the latest version and set the proper security in the REg this time ;c)

Requested:
+rework 21015 to fix autorun issues
+add in 21018 becuase its nice
+TF3d HD? not sure about the touch flow deal because i never use it. Can some one put up some links to specific posts that you are talking about please? That would save me at least a day of searching ;c)

What else?

EDIT: Also, this is the biggest debate for me. If you note I keep apps seperated into folders in the kitchen and that is how they appear inthe ROM. For example, all GPS apps go intot he GPS folder in programs.

My debate is to wether or not I shoudl leave it or revert it to the default locations of just Programs?
Any thoughts?

My opinion would be only additional folders of GPS, Utilities, and SYSTEM.

If an app falls into one of those three categories, put the folder in...Other items can go under the general heading.

My personal feeling about different apps, is I like the availability of independent CABS. Not burning items i nto ROMS(except essential things) makes changes easier when the developer updates his app, and also allows me to easily delete them if I don't like them.

Hmmm, until someone actually gets a 21032 build that isn't patched with 21015/18 components, I would not even consider it.

I know Conflipper mentioned he had moved to that build, but I never saw any true post where the OS/Build screen had matching pairs. dres took his 21032 build for PPCK down due to spurious errors that couldn't be resolved, most of them XIP related, leading to unbootable ROMs.

I built and flashed a 21028 ROM using PPCK a few days ago to see what the "din" was all about, but quite frankly, I didn't think it was all that great. My "windows folder test" showed it to be slower than 21018, and the scrolling I did on the 1K+ pic folder I have on my SD didn't seem any faster than 21018 either. Memory usage too was about the same, and the initial leak I thought I saw in 21018 isn't as pronounced as I had thought, though it is about 5-7MB in 24 hours, and I haven't seen any builds that don't have some residual leaking, even stock builds

So for now, 21018 seems to be the best build out there IMHO, and I have been running it since we both ported it to Scott's kitchen a couple weeks ago.
