Raphael dialer is working great for me, less bugs than Tachi that I've experienced.
ok, ill try it out, and now that i remember, the build process was going a lil slow than normal!

Re: [ 10-22 ][ v4.1 ][ 6.5.1 / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual HTC Kitchen & ROMs

Hey guys

Could someone maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong, using Calkulins 4.1 kitchen, building a ROM based on 21055, I have turned everything having to do with manila to false, turned SPB mobile shell 3 to true, build the ROM,
and no matter what Manila is still there and loading at startup!

any clues, can I buy a vowel please

Well thats a good sign. At least you have a place to start.
So, how much memory are you actually working with?
Free? In use?

Try tweaking those a little: ymmv
edit:
I looked back through a few more reg exports I did last year andhere's another Possibility.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\FLASHDRV\FATFS]
"DataCacheSize"=dword:00000100
"FatCacheSize"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS]
"CacheSize"=dword:00002000
"EnableCache"=dword:00000001
"Paging"=dword:00000001
Made the new changes...thanks for all the help. I did get a memory full message today soon after I left home. I'll try these new numbers throughout the day tomorrow. Thanks again for actually responding to my posts. I figured someone was out there that had dealt with this...but noone was answering.

Oh, and as far as my Total/In use memory....
After soft reset and before running ANYTHING:
Total = 112.13MB
In Use = 92.51
Free = 19.61

After running a few things Free usually is around 10-15...as you can see, i REALLY need to figure something out here...

Edit: Just ran Google Maps...then closed it...then checked memory...15.27

You might want to read up on sd config and cab in big use programs like youtube, google maps and opera. Also go into your common\touchpro\oemdrivers and delete ringtones and alerts that you don't use. I aslo remove avatars and other little files that I don't use because this is a Sprint based kitchen

Even better suggestions! Lemme back you up.
The thing is... I didn't know what is considered high&low usage for the VZ device.
This is the best practice for everyone, It's just way more neccessary in the VZ's case.

Is there any way you can give me more specifics? I'm not sure where the common folder is, or how to locate unused avatars in the filesystem. Also, what is "sd config and cab".

And how does deleting stuff and/or installing it to the storage card affect running ram? Does it load all avatars and ringtones whether they are used or not? if so, i can see where that would help. But I've seen some people suggest installing to an external storage card. How can that possibly help RAM...it obviously helps internal storage but it doesn't seem as though it would help program memory.

I'm not that good at giving out detailed advice. when I first joined ppcgeeks it was a little different the roms were pretty simple and kitchens were so you could strip out programs you didn't use and add in the ones you used more frequently. now you can choose what interface you want windows 6.1,6.5,6.5.1 or spb shell. The more you read the better you will be able to customize your device to what you want.

Check your PagePool setting: VZW should be between 8-12, and Calk's default is 0, which is what your total memory indicates...

That's not Vernox's numbers...he was quoting me...and yes, mine is set at 8 as I've said just about every post. That was the first thing I changed...but I need more than just that b/c that isn't cuttin it.
