I agree, Setting the pagepool to 0(Auto) is not a good idea. The second worse thing you could do is probably setting the FileSystemCache to 0(Auto).
This is what I was using on a low-memory device for some time:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\FLASHDRV\FATFS]
"DataCacheSize"=dword:00001000
"FatCacheSize"=dword:00000100
"EnableWriteBack"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt]
"ReplStoreCacheSize"=dword:00001000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS]
"CacheSize"=dword:00001FA0
"EnableCache"=dword:00000001
"Paging"=dword:00000001
This way, Your actually limiting how much, and what kind of info the FileSystem wil keep cached. (Juicy & Groove were using something like this on the Titan ROMs)

Delete everything in this folder:
SYS\23502\dpi_192_resh_480_resv_640\0409\Base_Lang _0409_DPI_192_RESH_480_RESV_640

and replace it with everything from:
SYS\23071\DPI_192_RESH_480_RESV_640\0409\Base_Lang _0409_DPI_192_RESH_480_RESV_640

Then, take all the abb_*.png files in SYS\23071\DPI_192\COMMON\Base_DPI_192
and copy them to
SYS\23502\DPI_192\COMMON\Base_DPI_192

And of course, re-cook. I think that's all the files, let me know how it goes. Saying we don't need to put any of Calk's files in the SYS is an understatemnt.
thanks, i already did this but wont build because i also remember two more things i didnt like, one was that my customizations wont run becase i get an error that says something about a certain file that is not there, and then it wont proceed, the other thing is the dialer gets the slider on the left that was a problem on the older builds....

For UC, just triple check your config script - it's easy to have a syntax error in there and then the whole thing won't run.

For the dialer-with-scrollbar-problem, try this:

phcanrc.zip

Unzip, place the .dll in your '/Windows' directory - should take care of the dial with scrollbar problem.

Or, better yet, cook the Raphael dialer instead of the Tachi, as I did in my last build. Worked great, no scrollbar.

What's the difference in this package and the one that railslave posted over at the TellMe thread? I'm running the other one and everything works and looks fine. I was wondering if there is any reason to get this one...

Thanks for responding...did the changes you posted...I'm going to try it out today. It seems a little sluggish and the video on Youtube doesn't keep up with audio now. But I will see throughout the day. I haven't gotten a memory error yet though.

-1 & +1
Well thats a good sign. At least you have a place to start.
So, how much memory are you actually working with?
Free? In use?

Try tweaking those a little: ymmv
edit:
I looked back through a few more reg exports I did last year andhere's another Possibility.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\FLASHDRV\FATFS]
"DataCacheSize"=dword:00000100
"FatCacheSize"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS]
"CacheSize"=dword:00002000
"EnableCache"=dword:00000001
"Paging"=dword:00000001

Re: [ 10-22 ][ v4.1 ][ 6.5.1 / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual HTC Kitchen & ROMs

I'm new to this. I installed the base ROM (23071). I can't seem to send and receive videos, but I can send and receive pictures (through messaging). Any ideas to point me in the right direction?

In that case it sounds like something went wrong in the ROM build, maybe a missing EXT pkg. Tray making a new test ROM with just the kitchen defaults and your SYS & XIP of choice, then start adding your changes one at a time until you get the error again, then you'll know what caused it.

Raphael dialer is working great for me, less bugs than Tachi that I've experienced.
