your newer build has older appls totaly sucks there nothing like finding and installing newer oem application build for example jetcetprint, windows live,, voice command ,etc.,.,.:drunken:

since the OEM apps were split from the rom, you can replace the OEM with newer updated versions from either the previous kitchens or newer you find elsewhere. if you have a newer jetcet than what i included, replace it. that's what the kitchen is for.

as for this build, I found that this is the only 2xxxx build that resolves the text unread count issue, and I feel it to be faster than other builds as well, but of course that evaluation is subjective.

I had no issues cooking and flashing my phone with your kitchen, but I did run into an issue with the built-in Opera browser where it will not save a downloaded file. It will create the file, but not save its full content. Prior to using the Opera included in your kitchen, I would see a "download status" screen that shows the progress of my download(s), but that is not available anymore. Is there a specific "opera:config" switch that needs to be changed/saved to get downloads working for me? Thanks again.

you can try using a different opera OEM. try searching for it. I included the Opera that was used on the Diamond, but that may have an issue. try replacing with a different version, cook it and see if you have the issue. there shouldn't be a need to configure an opera file for that, but i'm not certain

I am looking for an even easier (quicker) fix with a registry change, but I have searched thru much of my registry settings and cannot find where TouchFlo3D internet tab settings are located. I have tried to look in both Local Machine and Current User branches of the registry under /Software/HTC/Manila. Anyone know where else I can look? Thanks!

I would have to agree with you as far the speed goes, but my issue is multi selecting I just don't like the way they do it in these new builds. Also another issue with all builds is the old word correction not working. I was wondering if it would be possible from the kitchen to get the old word correction like it is on other PPC's. I think the cause of it being the way it is the diamond keyboard SIP, maybe installing another sip instead would get the old word correction back with a functional keyboard. The current fix to get the old word correction back breaks the diamond keyboard SIP as well as the hard keyboard sym key. There has to be a better way and I think it would be possible through a kitchen.

Yes, it is a reason. The PPCKitchen is stickied. This one is also stickied. Stickies are to draw peoples attention to a certain subject, or at least that's what I'd imagine they are for. Since this is the upgrades section, I think its prudent to alert people to kitchens that are available so they can build their own custom ROMs. Its for convienience, so people don't have to find it on a whim. You just go to the Pro section, go to the upgrades subforum, choose CDMA, and boom...theres a kitchen available, something people who are looking to upgrade their devices might be interested in.

In the future, you may wish to PM a mod to ask things like that, since they are the ones who stickied it.

And the reason Erice might have gotten defensive is the same reason I did when I read this...you have a certain additude to your comments a lot of the time. I've read through threads before where you come off as very condescending and have an air of "I'm better than you are" about you sometimes. I've even seen it in the chatroom a few times. The way you posted your question, it came off as though you were looking down on it or something. It doesnt sound like you are just curious as to why its stickied...

I don't know....just my take on it.

Settle down, kids.

Stickies are to make particularly noteworthy items easier to find. Just because this is a kitchen is not why it is stickied. It is stickied because for a time it was the ONLY touch pro kitchen. As long as it is updated and has a reasonable following, it will remain a sticky.

The PPCkitchen's kitchen is stickied because it is the work of many of the elite here at PPCgeeks. It, generally, is the standard for CDMA devices. Just about every ROM maker there is uses portions of PPCkitchen's kitchen.

DaPeeps, to an unbiased observer, "y is this stickied?", in and of itself, portrays really little, if any, attitude. Its only four words (barely), and has no 'connotation' other than an ignorant one. But it seems you know a lot more about said commenter than I?

Its interesting how one has come to build a certain profile of one's self online...when most of the time, one has no idea who one is offline, in "real-time". Its late. Im babbling. I have nothing else to do! My Touch Pro is (now) just about freakin perfect!

My D-Pad sucks though! I hated the Mogul's D-pad, but damn...id give just about anything to have one like it (or better) on my Pro! :protest:

5 minutes and a little super glue and you can add the desired bling to your tpro.

If by "bling", you mean hot pink swarovski crystals, then I'll pass. But you also seem to be implying that I somehow detach the dpad from my mogul and glue it onto the Pro? Thats absolutely brilliant!!! Thanks. =)

You can't even say ignorant - the question was rhetorical (indicating he's very well informed).

...and you gathered all this from those four words alone? My point was: if I've never lurked around these forums and had no idea who Nex is (which I dont), then his post "y is this stickied?" is supposed to be obviously rhetorical? Its pretty hard to distinguish tonalities online. Thats all I was basically saying.

I seriously doubt someone would randomly pop in here because they thought this would be a good place for them to learn about sticky policy. If they aren't really looking for an answer for their own benefit, then their question must have been...

Considering it is a kitchen, not a ROM, I'd say it depends on what you add to it. If you add nothing, it will not only not function on Bell Mobility, it will definitely say Sprint.

that is correct. the sprint carrier files need to be split from the phone and the Bell files need to be selectable. That will probably be something i'll add to the list of changes for the next release

the problem is, the only thing out there for Bell right now is the ROM dump that i created a few days ago. And the kitchen doesn't have Bell as the carrier, so i can't cook anything.

i wonder if anyone can make something out of this?

what i really want is a OS w/ no more of the crapware (from bell), maybe only a clean clean original OS.

Any ETA on the next release? Looking to try this out as it sounds great after reading through all 27 pages of the thread and the instructions/tools provided are easy to follow. However, I am waiting for a fix of the white flash/Enlarged Start Menu issue and a couple others.

According to the ReadMe, in 1.03.4, you "made picturemail install on boot", but I would like to get rid of Sprint PictureMail. Will the next release make PictureMail a selectable option so that we don't have to install it or is it already that way and I'm just not seeing it?

when i split out the sprint carrier files, i will add options for the other carriers so they will be compatible with the kitchen. it'll take some time as i need to gather those extra files. the next release will have all of the extra stuff stripped so you get a very clean OS, mainly like my ROM i have out there

no ETA, I'm working slowly but surely on the next one. i plan to make everything an option, and will remove the sprint picturemail from the customizations setup so you can install a cab. i have yet to find a working OEM for picturemail.

as for the white flash on the enlarge start menu, i think this might be something with the new 20931 build as all of the previous builds used the same ESM and they did not have the issue. things like that are unavoidable until a new SYS/XIP comes out

Sounds good, since I'd also like to strip out the hundreds of files installed as part of the Touch Mobile Guide, among other things. Looking forward to the next release!

Thank you so much! Thank you for helping us non-sprint users. I was able to get the stock sprint rom working well with verizon except Sprint PictureMail killed MMS for me. I'm sorry but the verizon rom just sucked for me.

On the Touch Pro in order to get the page pool changer to work, you need to edit the hex string to this.

from 03 15 A0 03 06 16 A0 13 00 10 83 E5 3E BB FF EB

to 03 15 A0 03 06 16 A0 13 00 00 A0 E1 3E BB FF EB

once you have that, it will be able to use the pagepool changer. Also if you do this to your xip before you cook with it. then it should bring those same setting into your new rom. and so every rom you cook will work with the pagepool changer.

How do i solve duplicate file errors in this type of kitchen?
PPC Geeks kitchen gives the option of overwriting them but in this case I have to leave out whichever package is causing the error.
One in particular is the resco explorer 2008.

You can delete the offending file from all but one of the oems, if you want them all. That is the only solution for Bepe based kitchens.
