Fixed. Uninstall app w astro then install 1.7. It's sweet! Google Search Android WiFi tether and 1.7 will show up.

I am unfamiliar with how to uninstall via Astro...? A little help?

menu>tools>app manager you can uninstall, backup, and restore from here.

Sorry guys, having trouble keeping up with 3 threads (kitchen and 2 roms) x 2 forums (xda and here). Yea the fix is to uninstall it. It's cache stuff that was left behind. Same exact reason that people who were using astro prior to me adding it to the rom were getting FC's on astro after I added it. It's also the type of thing that wouldn't happen if I required people to wipe before restoring. heh. FYI you don't need to use astro to uninstall it though, you could do it through settings < applications.

It's not un the market, and I suppose you could use the kitchen, but it is only necessary to download the apk and install it that way.
