[ROM] 01/01/10-1.1 | fresh rom | a new year release!
flipz(mode) and freshlyill are proud to release: Fresh Rom for CDMA HTC Hero (Sprint) 1.1!
A new year release! ![]() [Home Page] [Downloads] [FAQ] [Fixes] [Known Issues] [News] Special thanks to the testers / motivators. From xda: n0j, 702droid, toastcfh, abcdfv, 27s, kcarpenter. And from ppcgeeks: thacounty, athlet1c. And of course everyone else! Base: RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_1.56.651.2_signed_release (Now built off the official RUU!) Tested with: recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.2 Quote:
![]() ![]() Flashing this rom should keep all of your personal settings and should not wipe anything but you are doing it at your own risk. I make no promises on what may happen to your device and your data. This also means that unlike winmo, it's not going to look different after you flash. It will look just as it was before hand. Requirements: A rooted CDMA HTC Hero by Sprint. RA's recovery loaded on. If you have any questions on that then please visit one of the other various threads on here about how to root your phone. How to use it: 0. Create a nandroid backup! 1. Copy this rom (do not unzip) to the root of your sdcard using one of the various methods. 2. Go to the recovery program by either typing "reboot recovery" from an adb shell or by powering off the phone and holding Home while you power it on. 3. Scroll down to "Apply sdcard: choose zip" and select the zipped rom. Press the home button to confirm you want to write it. 4. After it finishes (takes several minutes) click "Reboot system now". Bugs? Questions? Comments? Ideas? Please post here.

Re: [ROM] 11/17/09-0.2b | fresh rom | apps2sd + busybox added
flashed a few hours ago and it worked fine coming from modaco with apps2sd setup. Thanks for the input about apps2sd, thats very interesting and its making me reconsider my use of it since I dont have anywhere near 100 apps installed.. I think I probably uninstall some I dont use before I get to 100..
Thanks!

Re: [ROM] fresh | MODS please merge | official thread
I attempted to use your .4 ROM with the following information and results:
Started with Modaco 1.1 ROM (using Apps2SD functions). Nadroid back to just after Rooting. Cleared SD EXT Part. Flashed .4 (Voice Mail Icon didn't show. Apps were not installed to SD. I validated this by the space listed as available and unmounted the SD care. Super User Application does not prompted me when an application attempting to run root executes for the first time.) Nadroid back to just after Rooting. Cleared SD EXT Part. Clear all extra data from FAT32 Part. Executed the Data Wipe/Factory Reset command. Flashed .4 (The Voice Mail Icon was fixed. Apps2SD still did NOT work. Super User Application still did not work.) At the present I have reloaded Modaco 1.1 (using Apps2SD) until I see an update from either Flash or Modaco. Thanks for your efforts. And, let me know if I can assist with any testing. Rokair (Jim) |

Re: [ROM] 11/17/09-0.2b | fresh rom | apps2sd + busybox added
Now that I'm at a pc I can make a comment that is worth something maybe. I love the boot screen! I also love the boot sound! Coming from Modaco meant I kept WiFi tether, SU Permission, and Spare Parts. I could do without spare parts, but it isn't too bad! I love how fast this rom is! I also love that Facebook isn't broken, except for that one contact. Everything else seems the same, except as stated, no bloatware, which I am doing great without!! Thanks for a good rom, I'm looking forward to your latest releases!

Re: [ROM] 11/17/09-0.2b | fresh rom | apps2sd + busybox added
I follow your post quite a bit... I dont have a lot of time to sit and read, so I figured I would just ask... I have sprint 1.56 on my hero. I have it rooted and am able to get to the recovery screen. when I go to apply sdcard: choose zip and choose the rom I want, it comes back with installation aborted, can't open/sdcard/fresh-cdma-hero-1.1.zip.... I have tried that on several roms with no luck... Any clues?
Thanks in advance, i do appriciate the help... |

OK, I have got both fresh roms to load and everything fine. When I reboot, It takes forever and then I keep getting Sorry the process.com.google process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.... Force close... Any suggestions?

Re: [ROM] 11/17/09-0.2b | fresh rom | apps2sd + busybox added
How can I get rid of App2Sd? I'm using Modaco atm but the misname issue every time I want to try something new is driving me bananas.. also how to revert your SD card back to normal? Do you have a version of your ROM w/o app2sd?
TIA!

Quote:
Backup sd card Boot into recovery Partition SD Card Fat32 Only Do a Nandroid Restore Boot up. Go back into recovery and flash whatever rom you'd like. You don't have to use A2SD2 with this rom, if you don't have SD partitioned as ext2 it won't do it. |
