Re: [4-18-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre5][1.0]

I'm on Pre5

On the Quadrant scores. I placed SetCPU to Performance(it maximizes) and overclocked to 1190 and I was getting scores 1400+ no problems. (I do usually have it at the smartass setting however)
I did the same as Deck and can attest that the steps 1-2-3 work.
Meaning:
1 - Flash the ROM
2 - Flash Gapps
3 - Flash Tiamat (SBC)...

I haven't looked back since, because everything has been quick, smooth, and responsive. WiFi works, GPS works, 4G works, 3G works, and so forth and so on.
I'm a power hog and use many apps and have never had my battery remain at 100% after more than 5 minutes when taking it off the ac/dc. It does now. I have used SZ predominately and never dove into SBC (was cautious, but have heard more good than bad) and I now love it.

I have not had any issues with gallery. I almost wish I did, so I could remove it and save more power

Looking forward to the Final, but the way mine is running currently is pretty flawless.

Ok...noob question about the Tiamat kernel...what does SBC stand for...what is it...and how is the SBC kernel (better<?>) than the non SBC version?

I'm currently running the non-SBC version...1st gen hardware...pre5...with no major issues at all.

"Superior Battery Charging"

Basically it trickle charges your battery, meaning you get a real full charge. If you've ever noticed you lose the first 10% of your battery way faster than you lose the rest of it, it's because it's not really 100% charged. I was on 90% + battery life yesterday until like 8 pm and I'd had it off the charger since 1:30

secondly, the 4G icon doesn't show signal strength like CM7. anyway to add this?

besides those two things, so far i love it. the rom is much more stable and reliable than CM7 has ever been for me. signal strength and 4G seem to be solid where as CM7 4G continuously disconnects and reconnects.
Hold the camera button to focus, release to take a picture. As far as the 4G icon- I use Cyanbread theme and it works perfectly and shows signal strength.

i understand how to focus, but i want to touch the screen to focus to where i touched on the screen. maybe this is a limitation of the gingerbread camera app? i generally do this when i want to focus or white balance on an off center item. like a item on the corner of the screen or a background item vs what is in the foreground.

in regards to 4G signal icon, i only see a 3G style icon where it shows up and down arrows. not the signal bar's as i'm used to with CM7.

The camera in this doesn't do touch to focus unfortunately.

And like I said, it depends on the theme you use. The stock "system" theme uses just the arrows. Cyanbread uses a signal bar like you're looking for. Idk, just look at themes on the Market or something if none of the themes you have now are appealing to you

Whats spare parts saying? Check CPU usage there and Partial wake usage. That will help give you a clue of whats doing it. Im assuming you did a full wipe etc?

why don't you flash Pre5 version. i was getting the same issue with CM7 RC2/RC3/RC4/7.0.0, but this isn't an issue once i flashed DECK Pre5

On Pre 5 1.0

I notice that when I select music from my media player, begin playing, and then turn off the screen, the music turns off. Anyone else experience this? It is resolved by turning the screen back on, resuming play, and going to the home screen before turning off the screen.
