[ROM] Azrael X v4.0 01/31/2011 (3.70.651.1 OTA/HTC #15 kernel)

Just installed the stock edition last night. I gotta say, I am loving the snappiness of the ROM and the transitions. Just waiting to see what the battery life is like over the next few days.
Is anyone else using any other kernel with this ROM that improve battery life?
BTW does this ROM have the darktremor's A2SD?

narchy cfs havs aggressive underclocking is working nice with this rom! Great battery life!

Hey Azrael, do you use the narchy cfs or bfs kernal??? Only reason I ask is when being out and about, my 3g has been turning off and won't come back on cfs. The signal is jumping all over the place… I am going to reflash to confirm, but just wondering which is working good for you????

Not speaking for ricsim (Azrael is the ROM name btw and soon to change!) but I know he will tell you the same-what works for him may/may not work for you.
Every device has subtle differences which makes the optimal kernel very individualized.
IMO you are on the right track-reflash it and if you are still having issues simply try another. IMO the top three kernel kooks are netarchy, kingklick, and ziggy471, not necessarily in that order The latest version from each one is a good place to start experimenting.

this is a very nice rom and very quick.

i do have 3 issues till now that i have not been able to figure out.

1. i can't upgrade the voicemail app (htc voicemail)
2. google mail keeps crashing and it can't be updated also
3. i can't change the wallpaper using gallery but can change it using animated wallpaper or htc wallpaper

had issue with 2.4 where 3g (no 4g here) wireless tether or usb tether download is .2mbps. will this update fix it?

The ROM has NOTHING to do with download speeds; the kernel does.

Maybe your phone and the new OTA 3.30 kernel does not get along well which is why you should be using this one with the OTA 3.29 that is designed for your EVO.

It should fix all problems you are having, assuming you do a full wipe.

Please let me know if the problems go away. Willing to bet you will see faster speed too with Azrael 2.5.

Thank you for responding! I've tried your latest and 2.4, OMJ, Calkulin, Fresh. All have the same 300kbps cap. Even ran dslreports mobile browser test and always between 190-300kbps.

What are some other OTAs I should try?

My phone was rooted with Unrevoked3. For every rom flash, I:

boot to recovery
wipe data
wipe dalvik cache
install zip
reboot

not trying to be an ******* here but if you put a rom on the forum for others to use, you must support it. if you plan on not supporting the rom then do all of us a favor, don't post the rom.

if i were a mod on here i would wipe any account that pulls that garbage. on that note, i went back to Myn's rom because it actually works the way it should without all these errors.

I support my ROMS just fine. I am sorry if I missed your post but if you have issues, it is your setup and not the ROM. Actually, I was about to respond to you and then I read this.

I mainly stay on XDA, I would spend more time here but I cannot set up my signature or even my avatar yet.

I guess you have a sense of entitlement where you feel if you do something, people should respond or else on YOUR time schedule. It has not even been 12 hours since you posted that question.

I can say since the ROM is working fine on my phone, using your logic I guess you should not be using custom ROMS if you cannot figure out how to get them working!

Please, go use another ROM, I have no time for people like you...internet "tough guys". I am nice enough to post a ROM and you are going to blast me just because I missed your post?

Check my posts on XDA, everyone talks about how I give unrivaled support to my ROMS. Maybe you should think next time before you go into a child-like rant?

Plus you cannot count, there has been 3 posts after yours. I am so sorry I was busy building 2 ROMS, setting up their posts on both here and XDA, building options for said ROMS, supporting both ROMS, and I missed your post.

You made that post last night, did you ever think I may have been sleeping or busy? Sometimes people amaze me......

If you were a mod here, I wouldn't post here. Thankfully the real mods are good people.
