I havent had any trouble restoring but yes, it looks like I need to update....latest version is 3.3.0

eventually you will need to update, because you do not have all the ota updates. if you're not having any trouble, I would just stay on 1.6 but flash the next version.

In a nutshell, if I am looking at my text messages inbox, and I tap one of the messages, the screen will register that I tapped somewhere else and randomly open up a different text message.

It doesn't do it all the time, but it is often enough that I really have to pay close attention to which message is actually opening when I tap one of them.

The one that opens is usually nowhere near the one that I tap. I'll tap on the top message on the list (which is at the top of my screen), and the bottom message on the list (which is at the bottom of my screen) will open.

You could easily send a message to the wrong person if you aren't paying close attention...

I know Chris & I have a similar setup, did u flash his ROM1 (PC36IMG.zip)? if so, ROM2 is what u want, if not, ROM1.

do u have a $ or # prompt when in shell?

if it is a $, you need to type su, then check your phone to accept the superuser priv, hit ok

the $ should change to #....now try the cmd

typed:
cat /sdcard/flash_image > /data/flash_image

it responded:

cat /sdcard/flash_image > /data/flash_image
/sdcard/flash_image: No such file or directory

I have verified that the flash_image file is indeed in the root of the sdcard...

I've seen this too...try switching your usb connection to sync, or make sure usb debugging is turned on (menu/applications/development)

Well.. Now I'm on "STEP 3~FLASHING ENG BUILD:" but im back to the original problem... (post #1403 of this thread, on page 141)

I boot into HBOOT, it reads the PC36IMG.zip file, then checks the PC36IMG.zip file then nothing happens. It just brings me back to the HBOOT main screen... :S

btw I'm currently on the OMJ 1.6 rom with wimax and radio

UPDATE: Nevermind... Re-downloaded the eng-PC36IMG.zip, renamed and tried again and it worked!

I was running the eclair 1.3 and my GPS keeps causing my phone to reboot. I clear storage to fix this (per another thread I found), but within days the problem is back, I'm not sure if a certain app that I'm installing or if it has anything to do with this ROM... I'm downloading 1.7 now, hopefully the problem goes away with this version.
