Probably the framework files used for the Riptide theme are for 3.29/3.30 builds. OMJ ran into issues using the older files, so he left them stock in the 4.1 ROM.

If you did a NAND backup before flashing the theme, restore it. If not, then just flash 4.1 again and don't use the theme until it's updated for 3.70.

Awesome... Thx for the help!

Thanks OMJ. I have used the (hotspot) app without installing the usb tether hack on your last couple of roms, 3.8 & 4.0. Is there anything different with 4.1? Did you already apply the hack in the earlier roms and not in 4.1? Sorry, just trying to make sense of this.

Thanks again.

yes, I have been including the usb tether hack the last x amount of roms, along w/ the modified hotspot app.....v4.1 does not has the usb tether hack, it needs to be updated for 3.70

just use wifi tether, it's much better anyways

Hey OMJ, when the new framework files are released do you plan on just patching 4.1 or are you going to put out 4.2? I think I will wait until the new framework files are done and then do a complete wipe.

I've never made patches but I suppose I could....but will definitely be updating a full rom to v4.2

Thanks! I've got my EVO rooted and running the OMJ 4.1 rom. I have three more EVO's in my family, but those are newer, and running hboot 2.02 . I am re-reading the instructions at unrevoked to root, and they don't mention anything about handling hboot 2.02 differently than prior versions, but you had asked my hboot version. Can I follow the same process for these three newer hboots as I did my older hboot?

Also, on a side note for the phone I already completed, I got an error about unsupported radio at the end of the root process, and my boot still says s-on , but all other indications are that my phone is rooted (tethering is fine, superuser icon, # instead of $ prompt), so should I be concerned about anything?

I'm no expert on rooting, I've only done it once, and that was over 6 months ago....but yeah, I believe if you have S-on it means your nand is not unlocked, meaning you're not fully rooted.

it's been mentioned many times, unrevoked will not root hboot 2.02, you need to follow one of these threads....

For those who don't want to wait for updates...here is one.

This is the framework-res.apk from the stock 3.70 build. I updated it with the icons from OMJs 4.0 ROM. Will restore the % clock and change the notification tray background. Notification tray will not be transparent however due to the fact it requires an edit to the services.jar framework file. I'm waiting to update that until Calkulin posts his update for that file for the Disable USB Debugging Notification fix.

Anyway, for those who want the % clock, here is a flashable .zip.

hey thx man.....I'm not very good at editing the framework, so feel free to help out anytime!

thanks.....how did you try to uninstall? They should uninstall just like any other app. I may move those apps to \data\app to make it easier to uninstall in future releases.

Just tried uninstalling it from manage applications and it didn't work..and I'm noticing a real quick loss in battery life..like the previous rom I was running I had netarchy mod running on it also but the barret life was better..this battery life reminds me of the rom two versions ago
