You're in a boot loop. Pull the battery...boot into recovery and WIPE data, cache and davik-cache. Do it 2 times each. Then flash the rom.

Now that you are on the most up to date PRI you MAY see better 3G data speeds. I do, OMJ says he does too. I measured before and after so I know it's not placebo. That doesnt mean you will see improvement.

Why would I ever check my chute where's the adventure in that?

does HDMI out work with this rom? i just got an HDMI cable from ebay and from my readings hdmi out should work with this kernal. anyways, can't get anything but audio with the hdmi output and i don't get any hdmi symbol in my notification bar. could be my tv, could be the cable, could be the kernal......trying to figure it out.

I try to install OMJ'S LATEST VERSION OVER 2.1 AND I get the same error message.

Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane is the adventure, I loved it. You wanna check your chute, it's kinda important :)

Flash it like a ROM, no wipes. (IF you have issues after the flash, wipe just cache and Dalvik then reflash the kernel)
Are you on Eclair 2.1 or Froyo v2.1-makes a difference-get the right kernel!

Did you wipe? You should anyway IMO but certainly if you are going from a Eclair 2.1 ROM to a Froyo 2.2 you need to wipe.
For clarity-what Froyo ROM are you trying? The one you had or the one Vegasden linked?

EDIT: What are your file sizes? OMJ's last v3.0 ROMs are 169MB-are you getting complete downloads?

I use Vegasden linked. Vegasden is the one working in my wife's phone. I was trying to update to the latest OMJ'S ROM BUT I GET THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE. Which kernel should use? they are so many of them. Thank you Vegasden and iknowsquat for helping me to get through tonight with my wife's phone.

Well even though you are going Froyo to Froyo I'd still recommend the wipe.

I edited my post above, check your files sizes to ensure you are getting complete downloads of the v3.0 ROM.

If you are on the stock kernel now on the v2.1 ROM and you cant get the v3.0 ROM to load it could be the kernel like Vegas said (provided you rule out a bad DL of the ROM file).
If you try the v3.0 again and have issues the wipe cache and dalvik and reboot and see if that helps.

OK, if it is the kernel causing you issues then it's the 4.0.3a-OMJ included that in the v3.0 ROM that you cant get to install. Try a Froyoized kernel one version back 4.0.2 and see if that goes.
