Sprint HTC Evo 4G Shipped ROMs

So, I'm coming from WinMo so my apologies if its a dumb question, but for all of us who had there EVO updated by a BestBuy Employee and didn't tell me about it, is it possible to just flash this default Sprint Rom, and be taken back prior to the update that fixes the SD Card, but breaks root? Then just root the EVO?

Found this over at XDA. Supposedly is the new stock ROM with the OTA fixes built in. This should be a good base for anyone making custom ROMs.

im gonna try to flash this when i get back to my apt, i kinda wanna go back to stock and start from scratch..im on a custom rom right now, and the wireless tether app doesn't work for me

okay i'm tryin to go back to stock but everytime i update with the ruu it said unkown error, I just wanna start from scratch, anyone know wut to do???

are you using the stock zip file, if so what errors are you getting exactly? also are you doing the wipes before adding a newer rom cause ive read not doing so causes a fixable continuous loop

try extracting the rom.zip from the .exe, then copy to sdcard & flash like a custom.....not sure if it will work, but give it a try.

Follow these instructions to find the rom.zip:

The shipped ROM can be found in three different formats. Identify the type you have downloaded:

• If the shipped ROM is in a .ZIP format, then simply copy it to the kitchen's original_update folder.
• OR if the shipped ROM consists of system.img and boot.img files, then copy those two files to the kitchen's original_update folder.
• OR if the shipped ROM is in an .EXE format, then do the following:
  1. In Windows, run the shipped ROM's .EXE file till it gets to the first dialog. Stop there but don't close the window yet.
  2. Go to Start->Run and type: %TEMP%
  3. When the folder opens, search for Rom.zip (use the "magnifying glass" Search button)
  4. Copy Rom.zip to your kitchen's original_update folder

well help me out bud... im getting all kinds of errors using ur rom !! com.andriod, sence shuts off at times !! anyone else having these issues ?? do u think its something i installed ? n if i do flash this ruu will i be able to root again ??
