However, when you first install a program into "Internal Storage" you also install stuff into the device, even though the program can be run entirely from the "Internal Storage" area. Do that with 10 programs and you notice your Storage Memory depleted. Thus, reflash, gain all your Storage Memory back, and run the installed programs directly from the "Internal Storage" area.

Thank you, georgepa that explained the reason for the reflash perfectly

I'm a Bell Mobility customer, so installed the dcd Bell Mobility cab and I think that broke some of the taskbar icons. Is there somewhere I can find the icons you cooked in to this in order to replace them? Thanks for any help you can offer; the ugly stock volume and battery icon look like chumps next to the nice blue ones for the signal and data connection!

Thanks! I'll have to look when I get home to see what the icon set I used is named because I can't remember for some reason. I'll let you know though.

first off THANK YOU for a great ROM im loving the live tv it works much better than i would have thought cant wait till that becomes a standard must have in future touch flow editions. i only have one question/concern so far, the Xtask manager that you have built into the rom, i am not personally a huge fan of the third party task managers and tried your last rom which did not have that client on there. since i have flashed to this current rom i have experienced alot more bugs and freezes than the last rom you had. what im curois is i know that other peoples roms had the same issue when they had different task managers trying to override the stock one. how do i remove the xtask from the rom if i dont want to use it, or possibly not cooking into the rom itself next time. Other than that i love it and cant wait to see what else you bring us in the future. Keep up the good work always appreciate a good cook around here.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure if the xtask is causing the bugs or not but I am expieriencing them too. I am way overloaded this week but maybe this weekend or beginning of next week I can look at taking that out. there's a newer system out that I want to try anyway. :D

The reason I cooked in xtask is because the previous task manger that I had mapped to the start button was causing the email to freeze. I may just have to leave out all but the system task manager and see what happens, but that means there wont be a drop down task killer like people seem to want. I'm open for suggestions!

Gotta say, the TV tab is friggin sweet!

The only problems I've encountered are:
-Location works with Manila weather, but Google Maps tells me its not available
-Initially TV worked, then I started getting Network errors for every feed. So I performed a Clear Storage and it magically works again. Hopefully it wont crap out again.

Hmmm That's strange, I havent had that happen with the TV. Google maps location was working for me yesterday but I havent tried it today. Did you check the location settings under the settings tab?

I had some trouble with google maps not connecting at first, but when I quit and reloaded it, I got a fix within 30 seconds. I also noticed that my bluetooth icon is gone after installing the dcd Bell cab... whoops. My phone's survived the past two days of medium use without freezing, though, so that's pretty darn cool!

I am sending you an update to the TV xml and logos folder, so you can cook it into the next rendition. I added some more channels, took out a couple non-working ones, plus cleaned up a couple of icon issues (i.e. Wedding Channel has the wrong icon associated with it, IGN game channel has no icon.)

Thankfully, there have been no issues regarding TV for the past day.

I checked the location settings in start->settings->system and it is set to 'on'. I even tried setting it to 'off' then 'on' again and still no luck. Do I have to install Google Maps to main memory instead of storage for this to work? Its weird because the weather tab figures out my location without a problem.

I noticed when I am plugged in via USB the EV flag disappears. Then TV does not always work (Network error.) Once I pull the phone off the USB cable and I can see the EV flag again (and at least one signal bar) it works fine.

Google Maps: You have to go to "Use GPS" to get your location. Go to "Menu," scroll down to "Use GPS" and put a check mark next to it so it constantly uses your current location.

Awesome! Do me a favor and don't change the filenames of the logos. I had to go in and type each filename in an app.dat file in order to cook them in. Believe me when I say that's a pain, lol! So if you change the logo just name it the same and I'll replace the files in the kitchen. Also any logos you add that weren't there already and any you remove that wont be used, let me know so i can make those changes. Thanks!

I guess I wasn't specific - I'm not really talking about actual GPS. I'm talking about A-GPS (or at least our version of it) where it uses cell sites to triangulate position. Its not as accurate, but it is useful when you are indoors or not able to get a GPS lock. It worked perfectly fine for me while I was using OMJs roms (as well as the ones I cooked myself using the same sys). I'm dumbfounded as to why it isn't working now. I'm on Sprint if that helps.

I see what you're saying now... No mine is not getting the triangulated locations either with GPS turned off. I'm not sure why that is. I dont think it's because gm is on internal storage, but you could always try installing it on the device and see if it works.

It's called Manilla TV and there are threads here and over on xda that have cab files for it. However they wont have all the channels and stuff that this one has. If you use the cab version you have to find and program all the channels and logos yourself with an xml editor. There's tutorials on it in the froums I mentioned if you want to give it a shot.

Hey, I have a bit of a bug to point out (possibly my own fault). It seems that, since I've installed the dcd Bell carrier cab, when I plug the phone in to charge and unplug it once it's complete, the phone won't refresh the battery icon (i.e. it is showing the charging icon) until a soft reset. Then, once the phone is reset, the battery icon won't refresh as the charge depletes. I think this is affecting the charging cycle, as my phone died last night from a 100% charge (in 5-6 hours) when it was just sitting on my headboard with the screen off.

I've still not made any headway in fixing the icons which were replaced after the Bell cab, either. I'm thinking of re-flashing the ROM and am wondering what, exactly, the carrier cab is installing? My aGPS seems to be working well, as is my data, so I want to ensure that's still working without the problems I'm currently having.

Well to be honest I never used carrier cabs so Im not sure if bell requires one or not. I haven't had those issues either so I'm thinking it is the bell cab. Try removing it instead of reflashing and see if that works. I'd say if data and phone still works with no carrier cab then why use it? But I really dont know.

Ah, if only it were that easy. Sadly, it didn't show up in my list of installed programs (and I wanted to make sure the certs it installed were still there, just in case). However, I did manage to hunt down the source of the problem and my icons no longer look like chumps as I picked the carrier cab apart and found that one of the things happening is an installation of a custom bmphcanoverbmp.dll, and the key "HKLM\security\ResOver\Bitmaps\BaseDll" is being changed to reflect that. I deleted the file, changed the value back to phcanoverbmp.dll and all is right with the world. (I should note that I'm not being case-sensitive in this post, but respected the case of the actual file name.

Bluetooth icon is still absent, but that doesn't appear to be the fault of that dll swap.

Hope this helps someone at some point!

I'm not running this ROM, so this could be a shot in the dark, but check your Google Maps version. Versions after around 3.2.1 (starting around 3.3 I think) are broken and don't support AGPS. Google acknowledged this issue like a month or two ago but it's not fixed yet as far as I know.

Yeah I've been working on the texting client errors today. Seems to be happening to some but not others. Not sure why. I will say that I removed the xtask task manager and that along with some messaging tweaks in the kitchen I've got a good version going. Been running it since last night and not had any bugs. The menu button in Manila text tab is working again and no freezes as of yet.

I will say that I removed the xtask task manager and that along with some messaging tweaks in the kitchen I've got a good version going. Been running it since last night and not had any bugs. The menu button in Manila text tab is working again and no freezes as of yet.

how about these two changes for texting and taskmanager?

Any word on a new bug fixed version getting released soon? I was having the text/message errors and it sent me back to my own version of OMJ's 28014 2.5/6.5.3 ROM but that Manilla TV you have is just so very nice.

PMD, great release. I tried it out just for the Manila TV as I was having trouble getting it working on my own 6.5.3 rom. Works great. I don't seem to be having any of the problems others are reporting. I did turn off HTC sms but that's about it.
Do you have a package for your Manila TV for other cooks?
Is there a way to change the title displayed on the top of the manila tv page?

Thanks for the hard work!!
Major

I'm about to finalize and upload one now. Still 28014 but the message bugs appear to be resolved.

I dont believe there's a way to change the title post-flash, but it may be something in the kitchen that's possible. I don't mind sharing the TV EXT package but the channel xml and logos are georgepa's work and he's asked that I not release those files outside of the rom for fear that wide distribution will cause the channel links to be changed. If he agrees to share his work I have no problem with that. As I said though I'm more than happy to share my EXT minus the channels.

Wow, that's an old ROM for me. I don't remember having any sms notification issues with it though. 1st make sure you flashed back to stock before flashing to the 11-5 ROM. If you already did that then try moving whatever ringtone you are trying to use for sms to the windows folder on the device. Then select it in the sounds & notifications settings.

PMD, thanks much for your work on this. I have another question. I want to use the EzInput 2.1 keyboard with your ROM as that is really the last thing that is markedly different in the interface between yours and the OMJ ROM's I make myself with his kitchen but when I load it up the text screen is just black, I am unable to select or even see any texts that I have received. Have any thoughts? Would it be terribly hard to toss that into the new version when you cook it? Am I crazy and it's just never going to work?

Thanks again!

EDIT - I mean that I install the EzInput and reboot and it all seems ok except for specifically the text screen which appears covered by black. I reflashed to stock and then loaded yours then put in EzInput right after another in that order

Been loving this configuration, pretty darn awesome. I have been noticing that the previous version would have trouble waking after it'd gone to sleep during a charge, rebooting is the only way to revive it (it's very eerie to see the charging light keep pulsing in to the phone after you've unplugged it). Flashing to the new one now and I'll let you know if it keeps doing that.
