so I am reflashing now but for some reason it is telling me that it can not find the player when I try and use the Manilla TV. I do not see Core Player installed either, do we need to go get our own copy now to use this ROM?

Oh crud, I forgot to cook in core player! ](*,) Guess I'll be adding and reuploading now. Sorry Guys!

EDIT: I know about 10 people have already flashed to this version so if you dont want to re-flash for the coreplayer you can just cab install it to the device (Internal storage wont work due the way my manila tv is built)

You are running the latest version I posted last night, right? There's a link on the prev page. If so it may be something with telus, mine is working fine. I don't know why that would happen though.

Billo, I can confirm Telus blocks certain traffic, some streams are affected but not all:)

Flashed to the latest rom but still have the problem where if I tap on all messages the HTC client only shows messages up to 12/6 and takes forever to load. If I select system, messaging (windows client I think) all messages show up instantly. Does anybody know how to change the behavior so that when I click on all messages from sense UI windows messaging comes up? First time I run into this. Someone suggested this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556614 but many report it does not work on later sense builds and the counters are also off.

Thank you!

I got the new XML and logos folder ready for the next update. Added 40 more channels, had to take a few out (Discovery TV stream does not work, also Animal Planet.) There are about 12 good channels in Espanol - Spanish (i.e. Discovery Espanol, A & E Espanol, History Channel Espanol, and so forth.) Should they be included as well in this mix as its own block?

Yes, as of this time let's not get this stuff out there for other cooks. The channels would die a fast death, IMO.

Where would I go to check that for you pjsnyc? I know that everything else has been working great for me with this flash, including the HTC messaging client.

Let me know how to check if this AGPS/Cell tower triangulation thing should work, if I turn off my GPS and it can still tell where I am is it that simple?

He's talking about the "My Location" option in Google Maps working without GPS. It's supposed to triangulate your location based on cell towers if your GPS is turned off or not working. I havent installed the latest GM version yet (4.0 I believe) but I can confirm it's still not working with the previous version after this latest flash.

1st, I like this rom, came over from OMJ's cause of the manila tv, too bad I don't have a full time data connection (yet)

was wondering, is there a windows app to watch on your desktop, I'm assuming the addresses in the xml file are internet accessible from an computer, long as you have the right app

just wondering, I live with a family member that likes to watch 4 shows at once, would be nice to be able to watch something different, and even nicer to be able to watch on a larger screen then the diamond

thanks

Most of the streams are formatted to look good on a phone screen, but they aren't HD. So, blown up on a computer screen they will no longer look that good. You are better off going to some of the free sites to get some awesome similar content:

For news stuff and channels like Discovery, History Channel, CNN HD, MSNBC, Foxnews, Comedy Central, VH1, TNT, Cartoon Network, etc. go to

http://www.cvinetwork.com

Also check out

http://www.justin.tv

go to the entertainment area for TV shows and movies.

thanks for the info, I've seen some sites like those, I was looking for more of an app like what's on the phone, using the phone I get a good playback on the same wireless connection that my laptop gets which is choppy and all (I guess due to all the other stuff on the web pages)

As I stated, 80% of the streams will look crappy on a computer screen. The streams that are in Cvinetwork.com are formatted for computer use. How come your laptop plays them back choppy? Are you on a lower-end DSL connection?

You can use Realplayer for most streams, but you have to type each URL in to make it work, there is no ready app like you have on the phone. Keep in mind that the work was not in providing the app but in building up the playlist as well as getting the logo collection together. You could probably do something similar in Windows with a little programming knowledge in Visual Basic.

Believe it or not, I live in a 1 light town (a flashing light) that in order to get anything besides over the air tv you have to have satellite, same thing for internet, if you don't want dialup you have to get satellite, which we had until last week, problem with hughs net, you get 200meg/day from 7a-2a if you go over the 200meg you drop down to dialup speeds for 24 hours

now I have an alltel data card, speeds jump up and down, we have 1 cell tower in a 15 mile radius and it's verizon, even my cell phone loses it's signal inside the house. but for the most part on the alltel card we get dsl speeds, which I have plugged into an xp machine briged to a wireless router, total of 1 desktop and 2 laptops run off it

maybe I'll just watch off my diamond and use the ear plugs so it doesn't bother my brother while he channel surfs (I mainly listen to tv anyways while I surf the net)

I was just hoping to be able to have some kind of a program on the desktop and plug the url's in for the streams

Yes, open the Lumous wizard from the start menu and then press exit. It will ask if you want to run lumous on exit. Select "No" and you should be good to go.

Anyone having problems with the data connection never closing? I use autodisconnect GPRS and have it set to 30 seconds of idle time. After my e-mail syncs, or weather syncs, what have you, it should shutdown 30 seconds later. Unfortunately it doesn't.

I know there's a bug where it looks like the data connection is still active but isn't, but that's not the case here. I checked the connection through comm manager and it's definitely still active while nothing's going on.

I verified my Exchange sync settings and it's not set to 'as items arrive' it's set for 30 minute syncs.

Well, I'm not sure about autodiscinnect because I've never used it, but in the notifications window my data always shows connected with a timer and the timer is ticking since the last time I started the phone. It's always on, but not always transmitting. That's with every ROM I've ever used, not just this one. If it were transmitting all the time then the phone would be running hot and the battery would drain in about 2 hours

I used OMJ's rom until last night, and it definitely shuts down with the disconnector. Also, the data connection appears not to be running when it's connected via USB (checked conn mgr again and it's definitely not running). Once I untether the phone, after its first update the data connection is always on, battery is hot, and battery drains insanely fast. So I have to assume it's an always-on. I can manually shut it off, but the next time it updates it stays on permanently again.

Actually, I found your ROM to be incredibly battery efficient compared to OMJ's. At the end of the day I still have 50% power left and that's after making several calls, updating emails every 15 minutes, browsing for 15-30 minutes etc. On OMJ's I would be dead by 7:00 pm. Oh.. and I undid the battery tweaks and set lumos so that I've got a very bright screen. Congrats on battery power.

On the dark side, I have trouble with your keyboard, it keeps on shifting to an unusable two key version (you can't get the 2nd key)... I find the dialer is really bad because it's hard to get the phone into speakerphone mode in a reasonable amount of time and ... it's extremely difficult to bring up voicemail because the notification band at the top is really unresponsive to touch. Minor niggles... you've done a great job on putting this rom out there

Oh and for the Telus people out there, it appears that Telus is blocking most of the TV sites. I can get MSNBC but nothing else.

Ugh, and I believe MSNBC just stopped working (although I have a new link with a working version to put in its place for the next update.) Can you run streams that use Windows Media Player but not the ones that use Coreplayer?

Have you tried the Phonex dialer? It is positively awesome. If you can use it let me know via PM and I'll send you the cab via email.

I can back up the equal or better battery life than OMJ's ROM too, at work I find myself sitting often with 30 - 60 minutes and nothing to do as a video compiles all the time and have taken to watching TV during these "forced breaks" resulting in much more continuous usage than I have done in the past and the battery seems to last even a little longer in my unofficial tracking

This is the best Sense 2.5 ROM I have tried so far! The graphics are very smooth. Love all the extra program memory you have left open.

I was wondering how to get the quick task manager open. It used to be up in the top right corner but now it is a clock. I read that you either double tap the clock or hold down the start button but those both don't work.

I could always just open the task manager program in start menu.... but that's an extra step or two and I'm lazy.

Also is there any way to fix the album viewer? It doesn't display correctly.

im testing out this rom and its very nice.. quick question about manila tv:
-does it matter what carrier you use? IE TELUS?
-does it matter what country you are in? IE Canada?

I have managed to get it to run a few times but not all channels work and i get errors for the most part. Are there any tweeks or settings i should be changing? PS youtube is flawless for me(if that matters)

I had to remove the quick task manager. It was causing several bugs. You might try mapping the Hold Send Key function to the system task manager.

Can you be more specific about the album viewer? Im not having any issues with it.

Yes I have seen others posting that Telus blocks several of the channels. I have no idea why though.
