PMD ROMz 2.5 Sense 28014 with Manila TV

This is my attempt to improve upon all the 2.5 based 6.5.x ROMs out there. I've included some things such as Manila TV and Lumous as well as a custom PMD theme and ring tones.

In order to get extra space I wanted to leave some of the big programs out that you would normally cook in like Google Maps, Opera 10, and Facebook. So what I've done is I've attached a zip file below containing those cab's that you can download if you need to. Once you've flashed the new ROM install those cabs to INTERNAL STORAGE and it will all work fine and you'll still have 50+ mb left.



*Note that 2.5 is still very new and still has bugs to be worked out. Thanks to georgepa for his outstanding help with the manila TV chanels and setup! Thanks to Akeo & amarullz for porting and a HUGE thanks to OMJ, NRG, Calk, and several others for getting it this far! They've done all the hard work. I'm just trying to fine tune.

If you're looking for a stable ROM for daily use try my 6.5.1/2.1 TF3D ROM. I was running this ROM for about 2 weeks and I had great stability with it. My wife's been running it for a month now and she's had no problems either. I'm currently dabbling in the 2.5 scene so that's the only reason I'm not running it right now. If you flash it please leave feedback and any bugs you may find... And hit the THANKS button

-Added Manila TV & Coreplayer [Note that manila TV and Coreplayer do take up more space on the ROM however, there's still plenty of room after flash (around 60mb)]

It was running great,

The only issue i ran into was when selecting my weather , i would get different letters instead it saying monday tuesday ect on canadian locations only, if i selected us cities it was fine

Is anyone having problems with the 2.5 download? when I try to extract it with 7z it gives me an error saying the .nbh file is broken. Has anyone else gotten this?

running the rom for a few days now. LOVING it! No major bugs to report, installed a bunch of apps and still have about 30mb free :)

can you cook in 12 quicklinks in the next release? and a task manager as well?

I'm testing a new 2.5 build with the 12 Quicklinks and the Task manager included. Looking pretty good and should be up tomorrow. I also reorganized the first three posts so the 2.5 is now in post #1.


Edit: Well I seem to be having an issue with the account manager and logging into facebook or twitter. So I'll update once I get that fixed.

sounds good. i think theres a manila 2.5 update? unless u included that already... gfxboost makes this rom more fluid, maybe u can include that as well.

When did the update come out? I'm using the latest version from OMJ's 1.3 kitchen. You have an EXT or Cab fir GFXBoost?

Also: New update is uploading so I'll post it soon! I got the Social Networking bug worked out.

the gfxboost is a cab file. yeah omj's should have the latest updates, no worries.

ok well wha I'll prob do is add the gfx cab to the cabs.zip to be installed after flash. I'm trying to keep it as lite as possible so people can add what they use.

Hey, I have used your Manila 2.5 28002 ROM since it was released. I found it to be very stable and appreciate the extra memory. I am using MaxManilla with it, and have had good luck with the combination. Have to tested it with your ROM? I found it a bit laggy when I added it to OMJs ROM, but with yours it seems zippy. Perhaps the saved memory helps? MaxManilla adds some nice features. For example, 20 Quicklinks, hotspots on every page (to get to Home and the Contact page with one click,) full screen mode, changeable clocks, change wallpaper on the fly, panorama background, etc.

Good job with your ROM. I like it.

r u planning on updating the sys to 28005? also wen i install opera on internal storage, i dont have to worry about my mem going down in terms of cache storage?

It is. It is as good as OMJ's ROM but uses less memory. I don't need Facebook and loaded Opera 10, Iphonetoday, Phonex, etc. (some of it goes into "internal storage") and still have more than 50MB base memory left over.

Intx's ROM does not work with the G-sensor version of NFS Undercover. In fact none of the other ROMs do, except for OMJ's and this one (as it is based on OMJs.)

I am using the last cab in post #5 (Ultimate - v2.5.) Other versions may work as well.

This was meant for the longer screen that comes with TP2 and Leo, but works on our Diamonds as well. When I use the fullscreen feature the top taskbar disappears but the first line of the 20 Quicklinks shows up on the home screen, no need to fingerflip down to the Quicklink area. I put the 5 apps I use the most on the first line of the quicklink area, so they are always visible. When I toggle out of fullscreen mode the top taskbar shows again but the quicklinks move below out of sight, making a flip necessary to access them.

Are you interested in cooking-in Manila TV? It seems to be an easy cook-in (no cab available for it yet) with the right xml file accompanying it (US stuff rather than European stuff.)

The XML file can be customized with your own content (channel streams) but contained in the thread is a link to someone's XML file that contains a lot of interesting stations already like CNN, FOXNEWS, TLC, National Geographic, Discovery, Comedy Central, etc. If there is interest on your part to cook this in I'll sift through the thread to find that customized XML file and get you the link.

I'm not too sure how much gfxboost will do for us with manila 2.5 as it is already opengles accelerated (also heavily makes use of openvg). It always used to be part of my ROM before that, but that was because we had basically no hardware acceleration in Manila. QTV (which is what gfxboost enables for use with all 3d programs) is just another form of hardware acceleration, so it seems kind of redundent.

You also have to watch it as mixing it with different versions of dshow will stop the camera and youtube from working while its enabled.
