I think messenger and facebook apps are missing too? GSM options instead of cdma and sms don't reach destination and manila text message button is not working. Also freeze at some places.
For now I will forget manila 2.5 and reinstall the oct 25th version because it was working perfectly well and this version is a P*** in the A** . I'll retry an updated version later.

Messenger and Facebook are removed on purpose. The goal is to minimize apps installed to device memory allowing you to install what apps you use to internal storage. That way you can use this rom and still have 25mb to spare since tf2.5 takes up a tremendous amount of space. Go to post 4 to get links to things that have been removed. sure, anyone that doesn't have the ability to wait for the update release should go back a couple versions and wait for this to be modified. NRG needs all of us to test his rom since he cooking blindly so everyone's feedback on what works & doesn't contributes to a completed version in the end.

For which version? The nov 5th one is broken and installing the windows live cab doesnt fix it. the nov 10th version just needs the cab installed. go to post 4 on the 1st page. There are links to apps that can be added including windows live. Good luck.

Anyway i can disable the HTC SMS app on the 2.5 version with 23081. Every time I try to type in the SMS app it freezes every few letters. I remember you use to be able to make it go straight to the default Windows SMS app when you clicked a text in TF3d.

There isn't a tf2.5 release with sys 23081. Just 21864 and 23504. But it both cases text messaging is broken but will be fixed soon enough. That is, it's not working on the Nov 10th versions but does work on the Nov 5th version. a workaround for the Nove 10th releases was posted by littlepyro here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=2903 which will fix text messaging so long as you install "boxwave twiddle". Google this if you want to try that. Good luck.

This workaround has been working great for me. A tiny bit quirky, but no freezing or anything like that. Arcsoft mms is also working with it. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...95#post1310195

Ok I'm thinking out loud here if I have time test it to confirm:

The reason you get an error for windows live is because the mail setup utility looks for WL app the minute you put @hotmail or @live you can use WL POP3 settings but you have to lie about your @address to get started then change it correctly before you finish setup. Or as stated you can install the wlm .cab from the front page.

There is a .cab from earlier posts around Nov4th build date that was used to remedy sms in Nov4 rom, this might patch things up in this one, be sure to turn of Sense before installing this cab. Now I'm just guessing and have not had a chance to test this yet. Just throwing it up incase folks don't want to have to wait on me to have time to flash my phone. Once I do (probably Friday at first chance) I'll post whatever I am able to get sorted out.

Also for those who would like weather animation with custom wallpaper I'll post the exact name of the file later when I look, but you should be able to find it in the Windows folder called something like. *_default_* something of the sort. My guess is saving this one, then overwriting it with the wallpaper of your choice, after renaming it the same as the default one you intend to overwrite it with, will give you the new one with weather animations, although I could be wrong...will test when I flash.

So I hard reset last night just to start over fresh with the 23504 build. I did not use my reg fix but instead used the fix by jquil. Text messaging works, just dont use the shortcut on the slider. I made a shortcut in my fav programs on the Home page and everything works great. It is speedy and arcsoft works as well. I did find however the ringtone bug. It gives you a corrupt error when you try to use and MP3 for your ringtone. Mightymike was plagued by this for several releases and finally got some help from indagroove. His fix was "Converted Modules To DLL's (Solved Ringtone Bug)" NRG, do you think this might solve the ringtone bug for our roms??

Thanks for this. I just noticed something regarding Windows Live that may add on to your finding...I apologize if this has been covered. I'm on the Nov 5th build now which has text messaging working through touchflo but windows live was not. I closed tf, and it looks like sense is blocking the screen to complete the setup. By closing tf, you can complete the installation without having to install any other fixes. It was just hidden Once you setup, fire sense back on. done.
