For everyone that is frustrated with the Task Management in 6.5.x, i think i may have found a possible solution. I've been playing with it for about 30 minutes, and hasn't hung up on me yet (doesn't mean it's fixed, but it might be.)

I cooked in the showcase_suite which as we all know has caused some issues with messaging and email freezing up. Well i checked into the reg settings for the package, and noticed that Calk has included Messaging_client.exe as an exclusion. It occurred to me that maybe there's something to that, so i have added tmail.exe to the exclusion list in the registry.

Re-cooked it, and so far so good. I can now X out of programs. Tap and Hold the Start button for the finger friendly task manager, and at least, to this point, have not had any freezing issues. I haven't tested the texting heavily yet, but i'm going to give it a workout today and see what happens. I'll post back if i know more.

The exclusion are for not displaying the app in the Showcase task manager but so you know, I personally still use Showcase Suite on my ROMs and every once and a while it will still lock up, mostly on boot up tho

There are two versions of 6.5.1 and one of 6.5.

OS 5.2.21876 (build 21876.5.0.72) 6.5
OS 5.2.23088 (build 23088.5.3.0) 6.5.1 (COM3)
OS 5.2.23506 (build 23506.5.5.0) 6.5.1 (COM4) (or is it com5 now? heh)


P.s Check the second post, tells you which version is what.

Yes I am using the new kitchen and when I tried cooking with Mess Client version 1230 it worked fine but version 3223 is not. I am going to try Calks Rom and see if it has the same issues..

sorry for being a noob, i have been flashing away for the last few days... so im on to trying these roms(23506). when i download them i cannot seem to open the files..they end in .7z is the file corrupt? should i just re download??

I have been hearing that the 23506 is running a little better than 23088. I personally havent tried. My 21876 rom is running so good right now, i dont want anything else.

That is 7zip compression. Its like rar except not. lol. You can only unzip .7z with the pocket 7zip program or you will have to use winrar from a computer or you can download 7zip from their website..

To be clearer, it can be extracted with any of numerous free desktop clients. 7-zip, izarc, etc.
