Oops! I meant to post that question in the Touch Pro thread - I'm trying to get your latest 6.5.1 rom for the Touch Pro - Is that link broken or is it just not ready yet (tried in IE, Firefox, and Chrome) - the only one active seems to be the spb rom

I cooked in the showcase_suite which as we all know has caused some issues with messaging and email freezing up. Well i checked into the reg settings for the package, and noticed that Calk has included Messaging_client.exe as an exclusion. It occurred to me that maybe there's something to that, so i have added tmail.exe to the exclusion list in the registry.

Re-cooked it, and so far so good. I can now X out of programs. Tap and Hold the Start button for the finger friendly task manager, and at least, to this point, have not had any freezing issues. I haven't tested the texting heavily yet, but i'm going to give it a workout today and see what happens. I'll post back if i know more.

Would you mind giving a step by step on how to do this.

Has anyone played around with the 4.2 kitchen enough to enlighten us with the differences between 23056 and 23088? Is 23088 6.5 and 23056 6.5.1, or are they different COM builds of 6.5.1?

I am still not able to get this new version of Messaging Client to work..I have tried Installing manila with no luck..anybody else having these issues?

Sure - if you're using the kitchen to cook your own ROM, navigate to:

Kitchen>EXT>Diamond>6.5.x>Packages>Applications - e-Natives Showcase Suite 1.1.0>

Right click on the app.reg file, and open with Notepad (or any text editor)
Under the key HKCU\Software\e-Natives Technology\Showcase there is a line that starts with "ExludeProce" and there is a list of existing .exe files. Just add ";tmail.exe" without the quotes to the end of that line, inside the existing quotation marks in the registry.

Save the file with your edits, and cook your ROM with Showcase Suite Selected and e-Natives position fix NOT selected.


Likewise, if you have a ROM with Showcase already built in (I don't think Calk uses it in his) then you can simply go to that registry setting:
HKCU\Software\e-Natives Technology\Showcase and edit the string with a Registry Editor.

Hope that helps, and more importantly, i hope it works.

I've sent a succession of 6 texts back and forth to mysefl without issue, and will continue testing throughout the day.

What issue are you having? Are you cooking out of the new kitchen calk released? I can confirm that i cooked in the newest kitchen with the new message client with manila 2.1 and had some hiccups over time but at first i had no issues at all.
