Actually its the exact opposit. I do not know where you get your information from but even after reading the exact sprint notice, sprint reps tend to be confused. Its because I have PAM/Data Card (used to) that I got out of contract and just on a month to month right now.

Its the PAM and Data Card users that ARE affected. Power Vision / Vision phones, its being debated whether they are affected or not but the official word has been no, just PAM/DC users.

The real tricky question is getting a straight answer on whether the entire usage shown on your usage page counts or just the PAM data which is flagged by your NAI.

If people want to get away without a problem with the 5 gig cap, they can keep using programs like pdanet and see what happens since the phones theirself using pv data for tv/web surfing/picture mail is not affected (so they say).

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

gonna have to look up this sero.

this would open them to a serious class action, unless they market that plan much differently it'll be an even dumber idea.

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

Well here's the Terms of Service:
http://www.sprintpcs.com/common/popu...msPrivacy.html

and a few select quotes:

Quote:
Sprint may terminate service if (1) more than 800 minutes, (2) a majority of minutes or (3) a majority of data kilobytes in a given month are used while roaming.
Quote:
To protect our network, Services, or for other reasons, we may place restrictions on accessing certain Data Content (such as certain websites, applications, etc.), impose separate charges, limit throughput or the amount of data you can transfer, or otherwise limit or terminate Services
Quote:
We reserve the right to limit or suspend any heavy, continuous data usage that adversely impacts our network performance or hinders access to our network. If your Services include unlimited web or data access, you also can’t use your Device as a modem for computers or other equipment, unless we identify the Service or Device you have selected as specifically intended for that purpose
Nothing about 5 GB being the limit...

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

As I look at our new Plan brochures.......under the phone as modem feature it also states only 5GB are allowed. WHOA!

Did not know that either.

This is a statement from Sprint:

"We are placing a limit of 300 MB per month on the amount of data use allowed while roaming off network as well as a 5 GB per month limitation on total wireless data usage for Sprint's connection and phone as modem plans. Existing customers are being notified about the change through messages attached to their bills that Sprint began mailing three days ago. The changes take effect 30 days upon receipt of the note. Starting in June, company officials will call customers to ensure they understand the changes made and to help better identify when they are roaming."

Someone report Negrito! He is going to ruin it for all of us!!

Seriously, that is a lot of data though. How do you even do that? I stream constantly to my car PC and I usually don't go over 3-4 GB's.

That isnt normal for me. i am usually just under the 5GB. but i accidentally downloaded a few too many movies on like the second or third day of my billing cycle, because i was already at 5GB by then. so i REALLY curbed my usage. well more so my torrenting, but yeah. I hope they dont cancel my account. cause my situation would force me to sell my touch, and buy an iPhone.

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

yea we download movies on our home internet and 5GB can be 2-3 movies quickly. So if a customer of mine says that's what they are going to do with an aircard....uh no, please do that on your home internet service, not aircard.
