Re: Adios Sprint...
What exactly happened? Did you tell them to extend your contract or did it just automatically happen?
I have extended my contract through the phone multiple times. Sometimes the rep would e-mail me a notification saying I have extended my contract, sometimes I would receive a letter stating it, and sometimes I don't get any notification at all. My best advice is to talk to a rep and explain your issue. Sprint doesn't have the best informed reps, but if you keep asking, you will eventually run into one that can be helpful. As far as the price of the plans go, no one can beat Sprint. |

Re: Adios Sprint...
My contract automatically renews every 2 years. You have 30 days from the date of renewel to make changes or cancel for free. I believe it's all detailed in your contract.
I think this is pretty standard policy. My parent's old Verizon phones did the same thing. I agree, call Sprint and explain that you wanted to make changes to your plan. You should be well within your 30 day window. |

Re: Adios Sprint...
I have been having service issues with them (both the phone itself acting up, and a significant degredating in actual signal caused by the loss of Alltel's towers for roaming). I called in about the HTC touch pro, and they offered me the standard downgrade swap out (Pre, Snap, or Curve), so I went with the pre (or tried to, there was a 'lost or stolen' flag on my account that it took me 3 and a half hours to get removed). After getting the phone swapped out, I spoke with retentions over the poor customer service (3 hours to remove a flag that was put there because of fraudulent claims on my insurance?), and they offered me a $20 recurring credit on my account. I accepted this after asking multiple times (as I had when I swapped phones) if this would change my contract, and they assured me, over and over again that it wouldn't.
A few days after this, I receive an e-mail about changes to my account, and lo and behold, my contract, which should have been ending 9/22/2010 is now ending 1/06/2012. Contract extensions have to be well gone over during the call, and at times, require third party verification, neither of these were done in my case. I can deal with iffy customer service to get a lower price, but I draw the line at breaking the law so they can get another few points on their commission account. |

Re: Adios Sprint...
I don't really think they broke the law, just were misinformed.
I suggest you write or call Sprint corperate in Overland Park. When I had an absolutly horrible experience with customer service, I wrote them a letter and they paid my bill for two months plus resolved all the issues I had. The corperate people really care about customers, it's a shame the call centers don't as much. |

Re: Adios Sprint...
bah dont get me started on assurion ive been charged twice for 200 bucks.. both times they said they never received my replacements.. so last time i stuck it to them. and just said the phone was lost..so i didnt have to return it.. and got them back.lol i know that was wrong but this place really sucks at losing return shipments. i told sprint that last 200 i was not paying cause i sent it priority mail with tracking..and it showed they got it and signed for it.lol but yet they still say they didnt get it and continue to say i owe 200.lol so each month sprint has put hold on the charge so it wouldnt effect my monthly balance...
point.. be careful when returning damaged phones to assurion. get a piece of mine and return it yourself with tracking etc.. otherwise they might try to hit u up for 200. |

Re: Adios Sprint...
Mine had nothing to do with a phone being damaged. Someone on the inside was putting through fraudulent claims on peoples' accounts (the one fraud tech I spoke to at Sprint informed that she had dealt with 9 or 10 such calls within a week). I figure that they were punting them off to friends to ebay or craigslist them.
