This? WHAT TO EXPECT - Normal Working:
** for frx07 I had got "No Service" if it happens to you, simply hold power key down, shut down, yes, and reboot. Worked fine on 2nd boot.

teradog. did you miss where I said 2.5 HOURS not 2.5 MINUTES ??? I am not kidding I started at 1400 est its now 1800 est (so 3 hours now) and its at line 14,685 and still going.
thanks demonlord. I will try a reboot it would just suck if it means I should have waited 5 more minutes IE why I wanted to know how many "lines" there are or am I just looping on something (though to it appears to be unique info) I will try rebooting and see what happens. |

Re: Simple Guide FRX07!!, 4 Easy Steps (15 min): XDANDROID TP2 DL links
now I noticed this time it states failed to find rootfs on sd card.
now one part of the instructions is not 100% clear. it says place the contents of the zip file in the root of the sd card. the contents of the zip file. does this mean the content "AS DECOMPRESSED" which is a folder names FX07 with a few files and folders inside. OR does it means IGNORE this FX07 folder and copy the CONTENTS OF THE FOLDER to the root of the SD card ? |

now I noticed this time it states failed to find rootfs on sd card. (it then proceeds as before ever larger line numbers doing its thing)
now one part of the instructions is not 100% clear. it says place the contents of the zip file in the root of the sd card. the contents of the zip file. does this mean the content "AS DECOMPRESSED" which is a folder named FX07 with a few files and folders inside. (this is what contents of the zip file means to me) OR does it means IGNORE this FX07 folder and copy the CONTENTS OF THE FOLDER to the root of the SD card ? so should it be root/contents of folder or root/FX07/contents of folder ?? also WHY can't I EDIT a message on this forum? I hit save and it just spins FOREVER doing nothing. |

If, however, you want to put everything in a folder (say FRX07) you have to place a rel_path=FRX07 statement in your startup.txt (between the quotes, in the cmdline section, like I have below: ) Code:
set ramsize 0x10000000 set ramaddr 0x10000000 set mtype 2292 set KERNEL zImage set initrd initrd.gz set cmdline "lcd.density=240 msmvkeyb_toggle=off gsensor_axis=2,1,3 pm.sleep_mode=1 physkeyboard=rhod400 rel_path=FRX07" boot PS - 'quick edit' hasn't worked for me on this forum in months. If you "go advanced", it should save your changes no prob. |

Thanks ARGHH..
NERYS, make sure you have enough free space on the SD card. I had that error when I was testing on a 256 mb card. Switched to my 8GB when I got my phone back from LCD glass repair and it worked ok. my first boot took about 10 minutes to settle in. |

Re: Simple Guide FRX07!!, 4 Easy Steps (15 min): XDANDROID TP2 DL links
16gb card 2gb used plenty of space.
the instructions should be updated since as they are written the correct action is to move the FRX07 folder over to the SD card "as it comes" from the zip file. once I moved the files it worked. new problem. Calibration is off. I can't really click much of anything (its off by like 2.5 inches) I can not for the life of me find ANY sort of calibration utility in android ??? what gives you can't align a screen in android? found a youtube video that indicated the installation should have asked me to calibrate but I never encountered that. it just "loaded saved calibration" data and went on. I notice its in sys/something/input/input2 etc.. but I can not find a sys folder anywhere in windows and there does NOT appear to be any sort of "file explorer" kind of thing in android ?? is this sys folder virtual? ie only "there" when android is loaded? how do I calibrate the screen? or how do I delete the saved data to invoke it to ask me again if that will work? The only way to unlock the screen is to slide the keyboard (thankfully that works but its useless without the touch screen if this is not viable to fix how do I "reinstall" android. is it as simple as deleting all the files and redumping from the zip file and start over? are there hidden files I need to be concerned about? |
