Re: Simple Guide FRX07!!, 6 Easy Steps (15 min): XDANDROID TP2 DL links
Now I'm getting sick of Angry birds...
My feelings or appreciation or OpenGLES has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I DL a stock full build frx07, unzip, run it (Angry Birds) on my TP2 & it works fine... every time! If someone wants to say that game won't work ever due to xxxxx... & we don't have it... aaahhhmmmm well, yea... it works fine on mine & I must not have it either... Each & every time... Perhaps we should poll the people that it doesn't work on & see who's running an Energy ROM to start with & who's not... WAG, but... perhaps just like quickgps windows affects the droid side... perhaps something NRG is putting in his ROMs is effecting the Droid side gaming? long shot.. timewaster... I just can't help strongly feeling you are simply blowing off steps & determining them as not necessary.. How many SD cards do you have? What sizes? How many have you formatted witht he tool in either my post 1, arrrghhhs, or in the xdandroid site link? What class are they? How many times have you DL'd the frx07 build? Which one/s? What are you using to unzip? I really like 7zip. Seems like a couple of you are way too much into the fine points, (like worrying about weather a android directory is built) & not simply sitting down with 3 $5 SD cards & RENAMING YOUR \windows\startup directory, rebooting & running haret RIGHT AWAY, not doing ANYTHING on the windows side. I can drive over to Microcenter & buy 4x4gig's for $20 & be back & run it on each in less than an hour. Sorry, man but it just seems like you keep having issues with one particular beach, try a different lake. If you can provide arrrghhh with logs, *edit* (not for game issues, only if you can't get xdandroid running) or me with lots of details about your ppc (starting with if you even own a TP2, as you still have mogul in your info..) All of the above plus... are you unlocked? Which ROM? What page pool (should have absolutely nothing to do with it...) Cookie? Using Sense? How much RAM do you have prior to booting into Android. What Overclocking are you using on the Windows side? etc.. etc.. Only other thing I can think of is that I'm using one old class 6 SD & one new class 10, on 2 different TP2's & both work fine, both on frx07, both run Angry Birds just fine. Both may be much faster than a class 2 & long shot.. the difference.. ?? So, you guys may also want to post up what size & class Micro SD. IF you are one of the few having issues: Simple troubleshooting tip: When you get it running on a different / new SD (which is what I did), then delete all the droid crap off the one you want to use with Windows stuff also (all my stuff is on one SD including windows cabs, programs, music, XDandroid...)... and copy the build from the working SD to your usual day to day SD & see if it works. Re: Simple Guide FRX07!!, 6 Easy Steps (15 min): XDANDROID TP2 DL links
I wear out USB ports on TP2's. last weekend wouldn't charge on some of my usb cables... a sign the port is going again. So I went & got another, which actually had a bad mic & I got another the very next day.
AT THE SPRINT STORE, on an UNLOCKED New TP2 (refurb), I popped in my SD card & ran haret.exe with the stock windows file explorer. It booted fine, XDANDROID WORKED. I then ran Angry birds, just to show a guy I knew. 1 day later, I ran it again on a different new TP2 from the Sprint store.. that's 2 new TP2's. The employee I showed is cool.. & still remembers me from some of the stuff he was so impressed with I got running/on my old Sprint Mogul days... probably not a good idea to just start showing off Android stuff & non stock ROM's if you don't know / have a previous good relationship with one of the reps... I then ran Angry birds to show him... Point being? If I can walk into a sprint store, take a new Sprint phone/build out of the box & pop my SD into their unlocked stock ROM phone & everything runs fine (frx07), then most certainly anyone (especially with a sprint phone), should be able to do the same on yours. There is less than a slight chance in he77 in my mind, that I can't take any one of your TP2's, pop in my SD & run android fine... worst cast senario, have to burn back on, a stock ROM... Point being specifically, issue between the keyboard & chair. Not the build. Take the 1 gig SD that came with it, hook up via SD, copy the stuff to a directory (\sd) on your PC, reformat with tools list above) Now you have 1 good test SD. Go to discount computer store & buy another, 2 gig... shouldn't cost $4. While there pick up a class 4 4 gig & lately a class 6 or class 10 4, 6, or 8 gig... Total cost should be under $19. (or if you have patience, even less via web order). Don't mean to be cocky or rude, just want to ensure anyone reading this post for the 1st time, or sitting on the fence afraid to try it... THIS WILL absolutely will work fine. Try first with absolutely no changes on your TP2. Then... if it doesn't work the 1st time, simply rename your \windows\startup directory & reboot. (you simply rename it back later) ... sometimes when you're stuck, you have to back out & try a different angle. MANY have run the 6 simple steps in post 1 & had this running fine within 20 minutes just fine. Please feel free to ask noob & lurker questions here. Certainly don't want to discourage anyone from trying. Try to read at least the 1st 1/2 of post 1 first... additiional reading on arrrrghhhhs frx07 post & the xdandroid site is recommended as well (both linked in my post 1) . In no way should that take more than 45 minutes max! Just pull the trigger & try it. Just make sure you give us details if you have issues... GOOD LUCK & let us know the success stories as well :>)) Last edited by teradog; 07-28-2011 at 09:39 AM. |

Re: Simple Guide FRX07!!, 6 Easy Steps (15 min): XDANDROID TP2 DL links
I installed FRX07 on my Sprint TP2. Everything seems to work fine according to instructions. However, the wireless provider shows 'XDAndroid' instead of 'Sprint'. I remember FRX06 shows the provider properly. Another problem: When time is set to automatically update based on wireless provider, it still shows GMT+0 time instead of my local time. I have to set it manually... Any fix for those problems?

Read the changelog, the provider will now say XDAndroid. This is expected.... It was either that or have you manually change the provider, which isn't pretty. There were some suggestions for you on the GMT+0 on xda-devs. Please don't cross-post across forums... |

what i didn't do is go thru the trouble shooting section like renaming the startup folder (my bad) I am running it on sprint TP2, stock 6.5, Cookies 1.8.5 and have 74 MB free. microSD is 2 gigs. Don't remember what class. I deleted my data.img file and retried it again. This time i get the "Sorry... the process android.process.acore had stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". so this must be my problem. I think the last time, i dismissed the msg since it still booted up and forgot about it. I formated my SD card to fat32 32 bits. When formatting does it matter whether it is 16 or 32 bits? I will pick up another SD card and to rule out my SD card. |

Re: Simple Guide FRX07!!, 6 Easy Steps (15 min): XDANDROID TP2 DL links
GREAT! Thanks for reporting positive news!
I boot into android with over 130 MB RAM, so I doubt it's RAM. (search for dream phone II thread if you want RAM) However, RAM in Windows probably has NOTHING to do with droid side, but I still doubt it unless there's some thread I haven't seen yet on the topic... Probably processor, however, I see you didn't mention if you overclocked. That helps TONS also... |
