Yeah, I updated my zImage today using the program in the bundle to do it for me and I can't get it to even load with the charger plugged in.

reefer has said that the updater is not working correctly. (unless it's fixed in the new version). But you need to DL from the link that he has on the first page.

So far so good. I havent messed w/ all the sounds setting, but those that i have are all working. I am sure that there are others here that can shed more insite onto this as well.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!

Sorry if this has been asked and answered... I did use search but didn't find the answer just others with the issue.

I'm booting from the SD card and my apps don't see the SD card so I'm not able to see my music without doing a media scan from dev-tools and that process has to be repeated after every boot.

The biggest issue is the phone is not seeing my ringtones the only option available for ringtones and notifications is silent. How do I make this thing see my ringtones, and ideally see my music??

Everything else looks great, its come a long way - and audible notifications, if I can get the magic answer, will probably lead to me using android full time.

Thanks!

So far I have only been able to boot successfully into android once.

Any reason that I could be having this problem?

Thanks guys!!

This happened to me also and I must have ran haret after deleting and reinstalling several different ways. I wasn't able to fix whatever the issue was until I formatted my SD card. I couldn't do it from with a WM rom either. I kept getting an error message saying data was corrupted. So I plugged it into an adapter and stuck it in my pc and I was able to reformat there. Then I reinstalled and everything has worked fine since. Good luck.

Hi has anybody gotten the 'my location' feature to work? Namely in the news&weather app or in the browser? Locating myself in a nav program or google maps or a gps test is no problem, just the 'my location' never works and it shouldn't even need gps to work.

It's never worked for me either, same for the location feature on google's homepage...

I've had it find me, but only if i'm outside. Inside, it never finds my location properly.

I'm in this camp as well. Small issue, but one that should be fixed at some point.

I'm in the same boat, I have tried 0 - 5 on the startup.txt and it makes very little difference. I Pretty much have to hold the phone a foot from my head it's so loud.

However, everyday this thing gets better and better and it's damn near perfect! Great work!

So theres still a mic issue? I know the "TiKL" app (PTT app) isnt working with the mic and they cant hear me.

Other than that im loving this.. the apps alone make me want to move to android. If they get everything working on this im going to keep my TP2 and SERO for a long time lol. Thanks!

I can confirm that it works for me on a Sprint Touch Pro 2. Froyo ships with GPS location updates disabled by default, and you need to enable them. After enabling, I fussed around with refreshing and I forget what else but remember it was kinda a process, and then the location started detecting in weather and the weather widget started working.

I can also confirm that going to google.com in the browser properly detects my location.

I am a newbie and i was wondering if I should use the RAR process or the CAB process? Which is faster? and Which is prone to have less problems? Is either or more beneficial?

Hey guys quick question, I know external sound is working now, however for me the 3.5 jack is still not working. If I plug headphones into it sound continues to play through the external speakers. Is there a startup.txt value I need to change or is this just an ongoing issue? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Well they are about the same speed the "rar process" requires you know what a rar is and then copy a folder to your sd card. the "cab process" only requires you copy 1 file over to you phone and then run it. So for you I say the cab process. The only difference between the 2 would be user error. They are the same beneficial-wise.
However if you every wanna manually update your files between releases on this thread you are gonna need to understand the rar process as well.

So for you right now I would go with the cab and install it to the sd card if it asks. There is no up or downside to either it is just a preference.

Hello Everyone,

I am still having issues with sound even with the 8-30 package from Matt, I could not get the sound to work.
I know that I am flashing it right, I done it a few times just to make sure, I deleted all files from my Sd card too.
when I go into settings/volume it seems okay
When I go into ringtones the only option is silent and it is checked but it is uncheckable.

I am using Blazing rar version 8-30.

Any ideas or tips are welcome.

Thank you!

Alright all I can find is settings>location&security settings>

I have the exact same issue, as do others on the thread, I've searched and have not seen it answered. I'm like Rudolph over here not being allowed to play in any reindeer games - sounds like others have it working fine.

I've seen it posted that doing a media scan from the dev-tools app may work, but I tried that it only helped get my music app to see the MP3s the only ringtone option was still silent. (although you can play an mp3 then select set as ringtone from the menu and that does work but a little klunky and doesn't help with the other notifications, just your main ringtone for calls)

Hopefully someone has whatever step we missed and is cool enough to share the knowledge.

I had the same issue, this is how I fixed it...
  1. Uninstalled android
  2. deleted all android files off my SD card
  3. moved everything from my SD card to my PC
  4. reformatted the SD card using the PC
  5. moved everything from my PC to the SD card
  6. reinstalled android
TADA!!
Works like a charm now :)

I have heard people argue that it could damage or wear out your memory card but i have been using my normal card for a while and not run into any problems.

Is anyone experiencing SOD (Sleep Of Death) on BLAZN? My phone will work fine all day long as long as I am fiddling with the phone and not ignore it for more than an hour or two. If I stop playing with the phone for more than 1-2 hours the phone will not come out of sleep. The LED light shows green but will not respond.

I have been searching all day to see if anyone has experienced this but all post are a few months old. Haven't found a solution yet. I even went as far as removing the overclock command on Startup.txt to make sure its not the overclock.

I need a solution just because I want to be able to use Android as primary OS but I cant leave the phone in my pocket too long without it going into SOD. My biggest concern is that I cant use it as my alarm, so before going to bed I boot into WinMo so I can use G-Alarm to wake me up for work.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It's probably the overclock to a speed your phone doesn't like. Try changing the speed in your startup.txt file.

In Call Volume Update

For those of you having issues with sound being too loud, and having distortion in your speaker (could possibly fix the echo too, if the echo is caused by the speaker being too loud) here is an update thanks to Sovereignty. For now, since its still a bit dirty, I wont make a whole new build with it included, but below is the download link for the kernel pack. You will need to delete your old zimage and modules files both, and replace them with the ones in this zip archive.

Well like I said, I even removed the whole overclock command in the StartUp.txt so I should be running at stock speeds and I get the same problem whether its overclocked or not.

Should I leave the overclock command and just assign it the stock clock value instead of removing the whole command? It doesnt memorize the previous clock speeds when you reset the phone right? Its gotta be defined by the StartUp.txt at boot in order to apply the overclock?

At the moment I am reformatting the Storage Card in Fat32 and doing a clean install from the .rar file and see if I see any difference. I already went through this process 2 days ago but it didnt fix it when using .cab file again.

my txt messaging via sprint doesn't work at all, but gvoice works great. I get that crash message everytime i try to send a message from the native sprint txt app.

my internet keeps on opening and closing.

my marketplace opens and closes.

other than that i'm using blazin and it is really fast. not like the last build. if i could get my txt messages, internet explorer and market place to work i would probably switch over.

i also had to remove my sim card and choose force cdma when i started it. anyone else had to do that?

THanks,
Sid
