Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
hey- a bit confused as to what happened here. After the initial installation and I boot back to winmo, I can't get android to boot again. It'd bring me to this dialog box saying to run a script. When I do hit run, it'll say script not found.
Any help? Thanks! |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
Howdy...
So I about did back flips when I saw the newest build up. I installed it and booted into Android giddy...well after playing a bit I went to set up my Exchange Account. Got it set up and it warned me that my company policy wants to force some things that will allow them security it and possibly wipe it...I said okay. Looked like it started downloading emails - then it appears to have rebooted android as the pictures of the phones came up and hte XAndroid Logo like it was booting but then even that froze in place. I rebooted into Windows, relaunched Haret and discovered I was locked in Airplane mode. Realized I never removed my sim, so I did that and rebooted again. Now I can call and such, but when it boots it tells me the calendar has performed an illegal operation and must close (before I ever open it) and if I open my email, it does the same thing. Its dead in the water from Contacts/Calendar/Email. Any thoughts? |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
JokesZonyou...
Mine does the same thing... I dont know if there is a permanent fix. However, I keep a separate copy of the origional startup text in a backup folder on my sd card... You will notice, if you go into your andboot folder on your SD card your start up text is a 0kb file instead of the origional 3??kb file.. I copy the origional 3??kb startup text from the backup folder I created and just paste it in the andboot folder to replace the 0kb file with the origional 3??kb file. I have to do this every time I want to boot andoroid...its a PITA](*,), but it works. |

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
Thanks for all your hard work guys the new build is amazing.. Just curious whats the highest overclock anyone has been able to achieve in android on TP2? i can get to 786 stable, my brother has a Moto Droid and overclocks to 1ghz
Thanks Again |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
If you change the startup text to be a read only file, your startup text will not happen anymore. i was having the same issue till i di that. no more startup text issues

Also if they looked only a couple pages back they would find another fix as well. Hard to know what script "it tells you to run" without more details about exactly what is going on, but if i had to guess, it tells you its looking for "default.txt"? Do a thread search for default.txt and you could also find your answer that way. |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
I just pick what device I have, and since I'm on Sprint, I click "Force CDMA". No issues. This build seems much quicker than the last.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
I loaded the one with sound and except for noise on the speaker everything worked almost fine. The exchange account works for email and contacts but I can't get any calendar to sync no matter what.
Does anyone know how to fix this? and if bluetooth starts working then I will start using this full time. As, as soon as I get the calendar to sync I will use the android os more often except while driving or while on conference call as I need to use the bluetooth for those. - Ofcourse hopefully soon after that we will have camera working :-) ..Ramesh |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
Great work! I used to be able to keep the screen alive (Stay Awake option checked under Applications->Development) but the last couple of builds haven't allowed it to work. Any ideas as to why it won't stay awake while charging? Can't wait for BT!! Yay for sound!!

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
This build is working great; I can live without camera and MMS because of how fresh, innovative, and intuitive android feels on the aging WM on the TP2. I apologize in advance if some of these question have been addressed but I did read the faq and scrolled several pages back but I couldn't find an answer so far that have helped with some things. Some of these issues may be unresolved bugs that may have not been listed. Can someone point me in the right direction on a few things if there is a working solution? TIA
1. How do I set notification sound to a ringer? 2. Is there a way to enable the SD through settings? I get an SD card error with several programs that rely on the media in the storage card because of it. Is there way to retain setting a media file as a ringtone if there is not a way to enable the SD card? I have been able to set my call ringer to a media file after using the media scanner in dev tools; the problem is after I switch to winmo or update android I have to refind media and then set the ringer again. Also after running media scanner on the home page with the widget it still says 'No SD card' even though when I click this button it takes me to the music files on the storage card that media scanner found. 3. I'm new to adroid and the video tutorial does not work in this download; is there a way to get notification icons on the home page as a widget that updates a numerical value when a new call, sms, email, voicemail arrive? All I seem to see is a notification in the task bar. 4. Is there something I'm doing wrong when it comes to syncing facebook with contacts. Everytime I hit the facebook button under the sync settings is doesn't initiate anything. 5. Weather widget locking into location not working |
use verizon tp2 with android on sprint?
newbie question here- is it possible to flash a verizon-branded tp2 with android and then use it on sprint?

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
I have a newb question. If you partition your micro sd cart to ext 2 would it solve the issues people are having with media and ring tones. I know that on custom roms for other android devices a common practice people is partition their sd card for more app space.
will try once i get home tonight. I got a replacement tp2 sitting on my shelf running stock vzw rom. will give it a shot by booting to ubuntu remix on my acer atom to partition the micro sd and give feed back unless someone else has already done this and did not work or work. please give feedback if anyone tries |

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
Its been a while since I have ran android on my phone and with all the new fixes coming out I wanted to give it another try.
I use to be able to run android on my phone with the old builds and installed the new one the exact same way as i use to... However, I am getting No Service and cant seem to find a way to fix that in order to fully use the phone. I am using a Sprint TP2 and if anyone could help me that would be great. Thanks! |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
So I am having a problem booting into the new version. i was using the last version w/ no sound w/o any problems and since i replaced the rootsf, modules, and zimage i always get stuckin the boot mode (where the lines of data are shown). it gets stuck in a different part everytime. So far I have only been able to boot successfully into android once.
Any reason that I could be having this problem? Thanks guys!! |

2. There is a known issue where some apps aren't happy with reading/writing the SD card, while most do so fine. I'm not sure I've seen a lot of discussion of it, so if you play around with it and manage to fix it, that'd be a helping a lot of people out. 4. Facebook sync doesn't work correctly on all Froyo devices I hear, not just our modded TP2s 5. Did you turn on location updates? Starting with Froyo, Google began to set location to off by default. |

Then before you boot to Android make sure you have a active internet connection. I do this by opening Internet explorer... But sometimes I don't catch it quick enough and I have to do it twice... :( Good luck. P.S, I don't have my sim card removed either... :silent: |
