Arrrghhh, the new build is quite snappy even though I used my old Data.img which has to be more than 6 months old. I would like to make a small suggestion on the thread....could you ask detule to update the 4th post and remove the dead link? It just seems like it would make it easier for the newbies but also a little reading doesn't hurt. :)
P.S. Glad to see Navigation App back on the build I really missed that one! :toothy7:

Which kernel are you using karimkahale?
If it is 3.3.6 or newer you must install an app in android to control the cpu frequency (I use No Frills CPU Control, which is free on the market).
If you are using 2.6.39, 3.0, 3.2, or up to 3.3.4 then you need to use the startup command:
acpuclock-arm11.oc_freq_khz=xxxxxx
If you are still using the kernel bundled with GBX0C (2.6.27) use this startup command:
acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=xxxxxx
Of course those lines need to be placed in startup.txt within the quotes after: set cmdline "here!".

What settings are you using on that app? And are you applying at boot? TIA Great post BTW. :)

I checked his post, the only link that's invalid is the one for .35 - which nobody should be using anyways... The .39+ autobuild link is still valid, and that's what people should be using.

I'll see if he can remove the .35 link...

odd request/question, but is it possible to access the recovery on this (i saw the CWM thread below, but does that apply for sd card too? Or somehow flash a zip file? I'm trying to get the google now to work on the phone and I'm not sure if I can just drag files out of the zip to where they should go to get it to work, before i tried, I thought to ask if there was anyway to just flash the zip. Like with goomanager or rom manager possibly?

I'll try it later if I don't get a reply back before I have time to try it, I'll post my results.

arrrggg, so .39 is what we should be running now? Instead of the one included with your zip file? Says it's .27 something, should I change to .39 for better performance?

edit:so far the googlenow velvet app runs when copied to system/app but it doesn't look like google now, it's the original google search app even after being replaced, I used the arm6 version from xda

There really isn't a recovery on this build (or any SD build for that matter, unless you go with Neopeek's stuff. Then you have to partition your card, boot & reboot several times to get it installed... etc). It's been collapsed into the boot, and is only used for OTA updates. If you want recovery, flash NAND. Remember, this isn't like a native device. Flashing NAND brings you MUCH closer to that experience. In fact, it's almost identical - about the only extra step is getting the NBH flashed so the bootloader will run Android instead of WinMo.

Regardless, perhaps you should just ask a question, what are you trying to do?!?

Edit - If you want to try the newer kernels, why not. They're up to 3.4.3 I think.

I wanted to flash the google now arm6 zip through recovery, is why i asked

Hm, I like WM and having android on SD, WM is still a big snappier for me which I like for my usual phone. Android is for fun but not quite there on this phone (due to old specs and all)

Do you know if there are any big improvements in the newer kernals? I haven't followed them and don't know if they are worth trying out, I know it's easy to test myself but I don't want to mess with things when the base kernal with your original file seems to be serving my needs. I mean I doubt a new kernal would make the phone feel like it's a few years newer than it really is

Thanks a bunch!
Been using the Froyo build but could get Google Market to update to Google Play.

Was about to toss my TP2 into the dumpster until I ran into this build.
Now I can get apps from Google Play!

Re: [TESTING] XDAndroid GBX0C 2.3.7 Build

Hi Arrrghhh, how's things? I recently bought a Nexus 7 and it does not connect to ad hoc networks. In researching a solution to setting up a wifi hotspot on my Sprint TP2, I ran across a post with you mentioning the built in wifi hotspot for android runs a regular network . I am having trouble getting the native hotspot started. When I turn it on it simply says "error". I am currently running the gbxoc 2.3.7 with the .39 kernel you recommended a few posts back. Although I have not fully tested if wifi works or not, I believe it does, as it detects all of my neighbors signals. Thanks for any help.
