Re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe

Well, I was able to flash a stock 2.2 rooted rom back on my phone, and now have superuser permissions., still need to flash an updated radio
I was hoping to be able to get rid of the sprint bloat ware, but still can't delete it.

The rom I installed was a zipp file, and was able to install in recovery mode. So how do you install a ROM that is an EXE file.
Sorry for the noob questions, still trying to get my head wrapped around all this

I would say unrevoked...it worked for me and I have the same hard/software details. When you root everything will be the same for the most part initially. Unless you start flashing roms and all the other goodies

how to root my evo

what is the easiest way to root my evo
version 003
hboot 0.97.00
software 3.29.651.5
android 2.2
radio 2.15.00.09.01

thank you ahead of time, i have been reading lots of threads and they all contradict each other. this is my first time rooting and i dont want to brick my phone or mess it up. i read one that said unrevoked3 would work. Is this true? Last which drivers do i need for my computer predownloaded.
thanks again

Re: how to root my evo

Unrevoked 3 is your best bet. It's what I used. It was super easy, all I had to do was download it and let it run. It's great for someone who hasn't been on the mod scene since day one. If you have a Mac it's even easier, if you have a Windows PC, then you need to download the HBOOT files and install them. The below link has instructions for that as well.
