Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
To change the Opera listing there are 2 ways, the easy way, and the "look I am soo cool that I edited the registry" way. I used the I'm so cool way, then the easy way came out and I felt like I was no longer special. The problem with opera is that 9.5 beta installs into different directories than the older versions, so MS3 cannot see them. You can change some of this in the registry, but why, just follow the steps below to make it work.
The easy way, find (earlier in this thread) the power toy for editing the menus. Then unzip it, and transfer the .exe file over to your phone. The file does not install, it simply runs when you click on it, so know where you put it. I added it to my tools group in the launcher for future use. Once you run the power toy program you can then check and uncheck the entries in each menu group, you can add sub-menus and you can add new files to run in the various launcher groups. For Opera (assuming that you have 9.5 beta) you cannot use the built in opera link (or favorites or history) you can add a "link" to the internet group and then select your Opera install from the list that pops up. Hope this helps. The instructions to go to SPB settings, and then check and uncheck, is from MS2.1. MS3 has type of feature, ONLY if you use the power toy. |

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
Being that this site is loaded with people flashing their phones every 5 minutes, is there a way that I'll be able to flash and keep my custom Lifestyle Home?

just extract the menu editor from that zip and put it somewhere on your device (i recommend in your mobile shell programs folder). Then just click on it and you'll get the same advanced menu editing page that you had on your old mobile shell where you can add/remove contents. Otherwise, you have to go into your registry and delete that msn link. Oh and look up the registry hack to be able to add links/files within spb menu categories, then you could add this editor to settings for easy access next time. |

Over at XDA they have a way to add screens. I am going to try to make a new Pro screen that is just like the old one, only editable, and with side scrolling options. I'll get back to you if it works. |

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
Is there an easy way to edit or change built in icons? I configured the first panel for Lifestyle Home so it looks just like Professional Home except I added the wireless manager and it just sticks out like a sore thumb. I found that the .dat files in the Program Files folder contain bitmaps that I'm guessing contain icons, but they're password protected. I'm just looking for a more subtle low key icon but I have no idea how I'd assign it to the wireless manager.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
Im using spb weather 2.1.1 from their official site and it works well and opens when I click the weather icon but the icon itself shows a question mark in the box and a N/A below.
Could it be cause Im using a custom icon? The square glass lookin one. I forgot to back up the 3 weather files before replacing them, could someone please zip them up and post em for me? |

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
When pics for contacts are selected through Facebook integration they won't be remembered if you flash the phone... Agghhh... Looks like I will have to continue to use the built in way... It looks like they don't get imported to outlook... :(
|
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
That's strange. Mine synced to outlook just fine. My problem is that if I change the picture through SPB, that person's contact will be at the top of my contacts in outlook. Pretty weird. For Example, Mandy will be above the A's. It will be like that on my phone as well. Mandy is the first contact, even before Adam.
Also, on the manilla favorite tab, the contacts are usually listed alphabetically. However, Mandy is first on the list. |
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
Ok... I just flashed my phone again... I will give it another try then since it is working for you...
I do not have the issue that you mention though... |

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
I just updated the pic of onr of my contacts using the spb3 facebook integration and the phone through spb shows the new one... Outlook on my laptop after a sync still shows the old one... Looking at the contact in the phone through the stock contacts app also shows the old one... I don't know what might be happening on my phone...

Yes, I wish it would not bring me back to the person's contact screen after I just call or SMS them. I'm actually getting tired of MS3's lag. You MUST soft reset once during the day b/c the phone just starts coming to a crawl. The landscape lag has to be fixed as well. |

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
Since this thread has gotten so large, I can't find the where it was that someone showed how to "unlock" the professional widgets (clock, weather, etc) to use with the lifestyle screen. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Also, does anyone know of a way to change the icon of a particular application on the lifestyle screen (like you can do in Pocket Plus) or do I have to change the icon for the actual program itself? Thanks! |

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
syrguy, just dl the cabs to main in that zip?
|
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
That is what they are saying. I have heard a lot of people have no problems with it, but also a couple like me that see the options in the widget list, but when we chose the pro widget nothing shows.
So yes, save the appropriate CAB to your device + install. I don't think it even gives a choice of where, but main device would be best anyway I am sure. |
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
you can also move all spb items to sd card using sktools, im going to try it tonight. thanx syrguy!!!

Let us know how that goes (moving the app) I am not sure I would suggest it myself (unless your REALLY strapped for memory) considering how much this app does and how much it basically overtakes the OS, but I am sure a lot of people strapped for memory would love a review of this tweak from someone that acctually tried it!! |
