So, here's a thread on the Spb forums regarding the "pre-release" of Mobile Shell 3.0. I'm linking directly to the page where it gets interesting with a response from someone I can't quite tell is an employee or not, but in my usual to-the-point posting style, I make quite an effort to call him out on his ridiculous claim.

Hi!

I'm trying out the SPB Mobile Shell 3 in my X1 and I think that it rocks! I also use SPB wireless monitor... does anyone know of a way to get this integrated like the SPB weather?

Regards,

Alan

Not that I've seen yet... although if you go on the Lifestyle Home section, you can add a widget for Wireless Manager which gives very quick access to all the radio options. (Update: Sorry, I wasn't familiar with what Spb Wireless Monitor really was... you can probably still add it to your usual Today home and from the Home screens click the lower right menu button and choose Show Today.)

I suspect all the other Spb apps will need a refresh to support MS3.0 integration once MS3.0 is officially released.

It never opens another program like WMP, S2P, etc.

I'm trying the shell but I also like the audio manager in TF3D. I don't like the library in WMP. Is there anyway to play the TF3D audio manger without TF3D.

In both TF3D or MS, I use Vito SMS-chat. This is an awesome program & I have it set to launch from a double click on the round center button with AEButton +. That way, I can launch it anytime I want regardless of what screen I am in at the time.

i actually got everything to work including the weather. but i think that MS wants us to use spb weather so that might be what everyone is having problems with. and when i installed MS3 i didnt have to install MS2 first...

Here is how I got both TF (I use TF3D HD version & I LOVE it so I didn't want to give it up) & MS to run together.

First, I deleted the MS startup link from the Windows startup folder & checked the box for TF3D to load. Then, I put an icon for MS in the Windows start menu (I use the Wisbar cascading start menu) so MS is just one click away at startup.

Now, when I start up the phone, TF3D HD loads like it always did (& I can also activate 2nd today so I have my weather panel which is 100 times better then the MS weather app). Then I open the start menu & click my MS icon which opens MS. At that point, I can use all the MS features but if I click the lower right soft button & click "show today" it instantly switches into TF3D.

This setup works awesome & I don't have to give up anything. At first, I figured this setup would slow the phone down but it's still just as lightning fast as it ever was running Mighty 4.16 (Sprint TP on Verizon with the telus radio)

Anybody know how to delete the launcher & contact text labels on the home screen in MS??

As you can see in my screenshot, that text is conflicting with the Photo Contact Pro profile launcher & I kinda like that profile launcher running.

I would have to assume that having touchflo always open drains the battery more though. I just wanted it more to show off or change at will. Deleting MS from the startup makes sense, good thinking.

I just rebooted and it's working. Nice man. You've been thanked. I can really show the phone off now. haha.

That's interesting. For some reason, showing off my phone really doesn't have that much appeal to me. I just want it to work like I want and have quick and easy access to all my important info and programs. MS3 seems to do a pretty decent job at that.

I didn't set my phone up that way to show off, I just like some of the features of each program & didn't want to give up either one.

I don't show my phone off, I work with probably 150 people & I doubt any of them even know what kind of phone I use........

Does Mobile Shell 3.0 have its own music player, or do you have to use WMP or a 3rd party music player?

And if it has its own, how good is it? (I like TF3D's music player a lot)

Has anyone else tried to do a backup after installing Shell 3? I have a new file in the main device list called /SMSListe it conflicts with SPB Backup and causes an error (I haven't had the nerve to try a restore from one yet). I know it wasn't there before Shell3 because I do backups all the time. I also can't add it to the exception list or move/delete it!!!

Any ideas????

P.S. I agree with an earlier post about it taking up a lot of running memory after a while, I had it to the point no other app could work until I turned Shell off or did a reset!!
