Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
I will have to check out the landscape switching, I can live with a lag there. Have you noticed the icons you set-up for apps get all misaligned when you switch from portrait to landscape?
|
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
Yeah...I get the same thing with the icons.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
i think my phone just got really functional.. wow

the lag is kinda ridiculous in my opinion. maybe the final version will be different? |
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
I have a feeling the final version will be a bit different. I can't imagine the memory-hogging effect will be in the final version. I did a reset around noon and only hours later I can't keep an app open for more than a few seconds unless I turn Shell off first. A cleaning (MemMaid) doesn't seem to do it...I am thinking of an Oxios hibernate type app....any ideas anyone?

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
I was reading the thread from the spb site Goodthings2life posted earlier and some people from spb have said that most of the bugs we are reporting have probably been fixed for some time. Take it for what it's worth coming from spb, but I'm sure there is some truth to it.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
This is absolutely my favorite program. Never really liked TF3D, pretty. I tried MS 2.0 - 2.15 but never really liked it that much. MS 3.0 has the best contact dialing page IMHO. THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks SPB will purchase day 1 |
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
Did someone test it with spb weather 2.1.1? Weather ist working in Mobile Shell but the program itself doesn't (nothing in forecast, globe ...). I set my city via GPS.
|
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
this is really nice, do they have a release date yet?
|
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
I tried it with weather (wow 2.1.1 very cool as well) Love the globe stuff.
|
Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
I've given SPB Mobile shell 3 a second chance, will use for a few days this time and see if I can get used to it.
Here's a screenshot of how I've customised it for the moment: http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/7615/myspbscreen.jpg |

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
I installed SPB weather 2.1.1 last night, & while it's still not as good as my weather panel setup running in 2nd today it's a HUGE improvement over the standard MS weather app (the globe is kinda cool)

Works fine, except for some memory creep. I have Oxios Hibernate, but after it's been on a few hours I still experiences about a 6% memory creep (I boot with about 59% and over time get to around 65%). Oxios clears about a meg of RAM (or is it ROM?), and killing ActiveSync clears another percent point or so, but I'm just curious to know if anyones found a way to either prevent the creep or clear up the gain? I have very few issues with the shell itself. Beautifully designed and works like a dream. I think my only complaint (aside from the creep) is that I much prefer iContact over the shells contatct manager. I also noticed that after the device has been on for a little while I had trouble editing a calendar event. I would click on the event to edit the title and it would close the editing screen and kick me back to the homepage. After a hard reset it no longer did this. Same with a game I have called Another world. The device had been on for several hours and had experienced some memory creep (about 6%). The game hung and the D-pad seemed functionless (on my Titan 6800). However, the hard reset button still worked, and killed the program for me. I performed a hard reset and booted the game and it worked fine. I believe the memory creep is causing issues with these programs. Anyone else? Also, I am very much thinking of getting a TouchPro. Does anyone think the added RAM, ROM and Processor speed would change this, or could this be a beta bug (the shell is still in Beta, correct?). Thanks again! M. |
