I ended doing a soft reset and was able to get in after putting my email address and password in. If you are having trouble authenticating, you might want to give it a try. it worked for me. maybe skyfire fixed the issue.

im happy i am able to get back into the skyfire browser

and i just soft reset and now my phone just freezes as soon as it starts up. no matter how many times i soft reset. i havent installed anything other than skyfire since the last time i reset my phone either >.>

What ROMs are you guys running that think its faster?

GMail is completely unusable as an example... if I try to drag the screen around, it registers that I tapped a link... I can't read my damn email! :(

did you change your password or did you follow that link and have "them" send a new one to your email address? if you changed it it wont work you have to have them reset it.

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta

So here is MY experience with .8 from begining to end.

I had .61 cooked into my 19213 ROM.
When I initially installed .8 it didn't touch .61 leaving BOTH versions installed.
I re-installed .8 when I couldn't login. This prompted it to un-install .61 before installing.
When it still didn't work I removed Skyfire and did a soft reset.
Then I installed .61 from cab. Logged in, then exited.
Installed .8 from cab. Attempted to login, no luck.
Did the password RESET, then CHANGED the new password to my old password.
Login worked, but home screen for Skyfire was black.
Restarted browser and now everything works fine.

He's right. You have to RESET it FIRST. Then change it. This is an important step that many people are missing.

You aren't invisible, many people are thinking that changing the password is the same as reseting it. It actually took me a while to figure out the difference!

Completely remove Skyfire.
Install .61, login, exit.
Install .8, letting the cab remove .61
RESET your password on the website.
CHANGE your password on the website back to your original password.
Try to login.

If you get a black home screen, exit Skyfire and try again.

I spent sometime with Skyfire this morning like many others. Big deal is to reset the password not change it. Reset reset..

This is why you need a program like SPB Backup.

I always make a new/current backup of my system to my storage card right before installing ANY new app.

That way, when the phone freezes solid (I have had it happen NUMEROUS times), I simply hard reset & restore the BU. I had to do this exact thing this morning, I was back up running fine within about 10 minutes.........

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta

hmmm....seems to me that .80 is buggy / not working for a lot of people. I think i'll just stick with .68 for now. I also would hate to lose the ability to resize my zoom window, that was just one of the things I liked more about Skyfire than Opera.

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta

I've changed it, reset it, slapped it, massaged it, and even gave it a courtesy reach around... nuttin'. I'll just put it away for a while & see if they fix it.

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta

I don't get it. It says public beta now. Says it will send a link to install by sms link or by download to PC and then the email comes telling me that I will get an SMS, which I cannot use since i only use wifi and not a data plan. There is no instruction or link for PC download. I download and install the cab from this thread and now I have to enter a username and password. I submitted my email, but there has been no password stage thus far. Where do i get a username and password.

So far for the mogul the speed and functionality of Opera Mini is by far the best, but if something similar had decent flash support that would be killer. Opera Mobile sucks on the mogul's anemic ram, does skyfire suffer from the same problem on the mogul as Opera Mobile?

When I reset my password, it wasn't working... I tried it three times. Soft reset the phone and it still wasn't working... then I did a search from the Today search bar and it worked and continues to work.

Its really not worth it though. I'm going back to the old version. I can't even use GMail on this one...

Im using stock Sprint Mogul ROM and gmail works great for me, but I'm using touchflo, no idea if that makes a difference or not though.

With the exception of the Today Screen search bar being inactive or missing at this point...I've had zero problems.

Guess that's the reward for living well and eating healthy.

After resetting password, did you try changing it back to the old password? Try logging in with the old password first, if it still doesn't work then try changing the reset password to the old one.
