Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
What ROMs are you guys running that think its faster?
GMail is completely unusable as an example... if I try to drag the screen around, it registers that I tapped a link... I can't read my damn email! :( |

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
So here is MY experience with .8 from begining to end.
I had .61 cooked into my 19213 ROM. When I initially installed .8 it didn't touch .61 leaving BOTH versions installed. I re-installed .8 when I couldn't login. This prompted it to un-install .61 before installing. When it still didn't work I removed Skyfire and did a soft reset. Then I installed .61 from cab. Logged in, then exited. Installed .8 from cab. Attempted to login, no luck. Did the password RESET, then CHANGED the new password to my old password. Login worked, but home screen for Skyfire was black. Restarted browser and now everything works fine. |

Install .61, login, exit. Install .8, letting the cab remove .61 RESET your password on the website. CHANGE your password on the website back to your original password. Try to login. If you get a black home screen, exit Skyfire and try again. |
Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
I spent sometime with Skyfire this morning like many others. Big deal is to reset the password not change it. Reset reset..

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta

I always make a new/current backup of my system to my storage card right before installing ANY new app. That way, when the phone freezes solid (I have had it happen NUMEROUS times), I simply hard reset & restore the BU. I had to do this exact thing this morning, I was back up running fine within about 10 minutes......... ~John |
Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
well i just let my phone sit there for about 45 minutes and its finally working again ^_^

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
so i can't remember the e-mail i am suppose to log in with ... any ideas of how i can get that back?
|
Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
well i just reset my password for the second time and its still not working. maybe skyfire is trying to tell me to go to hell?
|
Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
hmmm....seems to me that .80 is buggy / not working for a lot of people. I think i'll just stick with .68 for now. I also would hate to lose the ability to resize my zoom window, that was just one of the things I liked more about Skyfire than Opera.
|
Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
I've changed it, reset it, slapped it, massaged it, and even gave it a courtesy reach around... nuttin'. I'll just put it away for a while & see if they fix it.

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
I don't get it. It says public beta now. Says it will send a link to install by sms link or by download to PC and then the email comes telling me that I will get an SMS, which I cannot use since i only use wifi and not a data plan. There is no instruction or link for PC download. I download and install the cab from this thread and now I have to enter a username and password. I submitted my email, but there has been no password stage thus far. Where do i get a username and password.
So far for the mogul the speed and functionality of Opera Mini is by far the best, but if something similar had decent flash support that would be killer. Opera Mobile sucks on the mogul's anemic ram, does skyfire suffer from the same problem on the mogul as Opera Mobile? |

Im using stock Sprint Mogul ROM and gmail works great for me, but I'm using touchflo, no idea if that makes a difference or not though. |
Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta
With the exception of the Today Screen search bar being inactive or missing at this point...I've had zero problems.
