Re: unwanted vertical scroll bars in UL??
Works fine on mine. I had the exact problem you have. It should be type 4 originally fyi not 0. Type 5 means that it has priority over anything and so therefore will have no scroll bars. Also, you have to soft reset after you make any registry changes. So, set it to 5 and soft reset. Also, make sure you don't have any Today plugins active above it in the Today options menu.
PS. You are making sure you have the size of UL set to equal to or less than the available size on your Today screen right? Should be ~292 if you have removed your bottom soft buttons bar or ~260 if you haven't. This really is the solution. Last edited by Nagrom Nniuq; 09-18-2008 at 01:48 AM. |

Re: unwanted vertical scroll bars in UL??
Mine was set to type 4. I switched it to type 5 & restarted.
At that point, UL stopped working entirely. I went back to that setting & it had set itself to 0. After that, I tried switching it to 5 probably 20 times but after a reset it would be back on 0 again. I finally tried switching the value through SK tools & then it finally held & it partially fixed the problem. This is what my screen looks like at startup ![]() This is what it looks like when I switch to landscape & back ![]() the scroll bar showing in the 2nd shot will not go away until a soft reset. I have the fixed height set to 255. ~John |

Re: unwanted vertical scroll bars in UL??
By the way, it does exactly the same thing with the height box unchecked.
I may quit fighting this & dump UL, it worked great in WM6.0 but it doesn't seem to like WM6.1 very much. ~John |

Re: unwanted vertical scroll bars in UL??
Weird dude. I'm really sorry I don't have the answer. I think UL is one of the best programs available for PPC and one of the 3 programs I've bought for PPC. I had that exact problem and changing the Type to 5 fixed it for me.
The only thing I can think is that the battery meter at the top of the screen is messing it up. I know it shifts your screen by 3-4pix. Try disabling the battery meter and see if that fixes it. If not, I'm out of ideas. |

Re: unwanted vertical scroll bars in UL??
Well, I after MANY hour of screwing with UL & many many resets I have figured out that if I totally eliminate the bottom row of icons that UL works fine. That's not a great solution & shouldn't be necessary (I never had to do that in WM 6.0) but it does work.
I unhid the systray & loaded 12 icons there & then added the GPS toggle in place of the bottom row of icons. http://www.pbase.com/jmorton10/image/103337828 ~John |

Re: unwanted vertical scroll bars in UL??
ive been using the reg edit of the today item from 4 to 5 since i got UL. cause i too hated the scroll bar.. and it worked perfect. you dont need to soft reset for it. you just need to disable the today item from settings/personal/today. wait a few seconds.. then enable it again. sometimes UL doesnt start up. just do it again till it starts up.. make sure you have the "Home" set to an UL screen that has items on it.. otherwise itll just minimize and itll run but you cant see it. or just go to UL settings and dont check always minimize.. im using HTC home as my main UL screen. and it auto sets that as the height for all tabs
