Its not that its a bad player, I just didn't like the scanning and the hijack of the file associations (after i noticed it)

Re: Kinoma media player

I definitely dig this player. Coreplayer won't work on WM6 with a xv6900 for some reason...but this one does.

It sounds like you got Kinoma Play for free via TrialPay. I can't speak for Real's hold times, but I'd encourage you to send a quick note to TrialPay if you found it excessive.

I don't want to "check it out" until it asks before it acts. this includes file associations as well as scanning options (ie, autoscan on/off &or which folder(s) to scan)

don't get me wrong, I appreciate your updates and presence here, but why would I buy an app lacking the most basic and standard options.

FWIW, there's no need to install the software to find out what's changed. The detailed release notes I linked to lists all major changes (and some form of built-in file association management would be considered major).

I understand. I wanted to post anyway, since for a lot of people the scanning enhancements were the last thing preventing them from moving to Kinoma Play as their primary player.

Thanks,

Re: Kinoma media player

my bad, I was on my mogul and didn't want follow a link.
so it sounds like the scanning woe's have been addressed..

I'm still squeamish about the freeplay, due to the file association, but while I was looking around on the site, I was drawn to the ORB functions, as well as the other stream bookmark capabilities...
also saw that you had a PC counterpart, which I could see being useful.. any plans on making a bundle deal for both?

Yup, I just installed it & then went to Resco File Explorer & once again redid all the file associations.

It was easier this time as Resco had under "open with" options, Kinoma as the default but right under that was the app that Kinoma had stolen the association from so all I had to do was click the original app & then check the box for "always use this program to open this type of file"

Fix this problem & I will recommend this app to anybody, it is an awesome youtube player.

It wouldn't be my default music player, I'm more interested in the podcasts, radio stations, ect ect. I would also like, as previously stated the ability to enable/diable autoscan, and the same goes with the file associations. like I said before, i don't have any plan to change my defaul music player. It integrates very well with the other programs from that developer, and keeps getting better.

I also thank you for your presence and hope to see future releases making this program worth buying. Keep us posted!
