From the known issues:

"Custom IME’s (like HTC’s IME) will be buggy at best, not working at worst."

Maybe it wasn't deemed to be important enough for a beta.

Because it's a beta, and betas are experimentan software? Maybe there was something else that was more important to fix which caused this.

especially since the diamond is a htc product and 9.5 was debuted on the diamond, I'm baffled by this.
The public version isn't just supposed to work on the Diamond, but on all sorts of different phones.

Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)

Downloaded the official release from the Opera site (Build 171. After some brief testing I can report the following on my Mogul:

Pros:
Address bar does not close during hard keyboard typing
No memory errors (yet)

Cons:
Limit paragraph is on full time, unlike leaked releases.
Pages seem to load slow
Some pages don't load as desktop version (Gizmodo,Joystiq)

greetings. im also using a mogul, and the out of memory errors pretty much make the beta unusable for me. its too bad, cause i was really looking forward to using it.

Yeah, same for me. The last two builds (1706,171 really seem to be the best so far, at least to me. Aside from the obvious keyboard issues, they just seemed faster, the fonts didn't get all scrunched up, no long delay when trying to enter text, they just seemed way more polished. But the out of memory errors are just way to frequent. Why weren't they in the previous builds? Is it some setting in opera.ini? Just seems strange that all the builds with the black skin, not many memory issues. Builds with silver skin, memory issues all over the place. Wonder what changed? And more importantly, will the mogul ever have the memory needed to run the app properly?

none of the previous builds worked for me. they always froze or just didnt load at all. that why i was quite happy with the newest beta. until about 5 minutes into using it - out of memory please close tabs. grrrrr

I would say it might be acceptable to kill all apps on the launch of opera to free up max ram, but after installing Opera it now does this for every app launch, so now your system is configured to only allow one app to be running at all times. That is crap.

Maybe YOUR device is configured that way... mine sure works like normal...

Why would you want to jump from Skyfire? If you like SF, keep using it!
