Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)

I had 20 MB free when I launched it on my Mogul, and I completely ran out after about 5 websites. Out of memory errors all over the place. Sigh.

Honestly, the Google browser in Android is smoother than 9.5...... I'd recommend Skyfire over 9.5 at this point.

Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)

it's a shame with all the memory errors. I am going back to 1184, in my limited experience thus far, this new beta is the fastest out there, but perhaps also the hungriest as well. let's wait til the next beta.....

Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)

Personally speaking, i shouldnt really care if the 9.5 beta doesnt work well with my mogul. Because with opera mini and skyfire and i guess to a lesser extent pie-plus, they really do cover my browsing needs. There's just something in me though, thats always looking for the next best thing. I think this is the first time ive been disappointed by the moguls low ram issue. oh well.....

Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)

No memory or keyboard issues with my Touch, but build 1706 sort of broke my data connection with Sprint. So I went back to 1522 and then 1476, but some pages kept giving me:

Finally got it working by going all the way back to build 405. Then build 1718 arrives, and works beautifully! For my mobile browsing of the Web, Skyfire became useless a couple months ago, totally beaten by build 1126. And now with the very snappy and snazzy 2nd build of Beta 1, I'll probably dump Skyfire. Meanwhile, I had forgotten how nice the skin of 405 was. Wonder what'd happen if I copied the standard_skin.zip file from 405 over the one installed with 1718?

Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)

I updated the OP with this information, but if you run into any bugs, be sure to report them over @ Opera's forums:
http://my.opera.com/community/forums/forum.dml?id=102

A few Opera employees are in there reading the forums, and responding to questions, bugs, etc)...

The keyboard bug is a known issue that they are aware of, so no need to report that.

i'm not much of a registry editor, but is there anything in the registry that would let us choose the default keyboard skin?

Of course it is, if you are running it on faster hardware.
