Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)
paying for the browser helps pay for their marketing and gives more incentive to the developers and development.... developers will put more time and effort the more they get paid... this could also make opera the best browser out if they keep making it better and better on a regular basis, unlike skyfire who takes forever and a day to give you a beta to test...
giving it for free may not be the smartest thing, but it is a possibility i suppose. |

Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)
Ok, I'll probably sound like an idiot here but it won't be the first time and you all have treated me so nice in the past so....
I've done a LITTLE research on Opera the past 2 days. Apparently this program will allow me to scroll (left and right, up and down) my internet pages with my finger. Is this correct? If so can someone point me in the right direction where I can get a GOOD working copy of this program? Seems to me the "newest" version they have floating around now has too many bugs in it for a sort-of-noob like me. Any help is appreciated. I'm not afraid of the THANKS button!

Re: Opera Mobile Offical Beta 9.5.1 Build 1718 (Updated)
On the Sprint Mogul, the most serious bug is that it significantly reduces the multitaskability of other programs (i.e., when Opera Mobile itself is not running). For example, Internet Explorer is ordinarily able to start TCPMP (to play a Youtube video) or Streamer (to play a Mobile Youtube video); when either of those finishes, I can close it, and I then come back to Internet Explorer exactly where I was. Now that Opera Mobile is installed, TCPMP and Streamer force Explorer to close.
This does not happen with all programs, only some. I suspect that Opera Mobile has tweaked the Windows Mobile definition of "low memory", so that Windows Mobile is more eager to close programs than it used to be. The reason for this tweak, I presume, is so that Opera Mobile will gracefully exit when it runs out of memory rather than hanging the device. |
