I love Slick, it works great and more user friendly features.

+1 Palringo. u guys are kinda cutting yourself short by using anything else.

those other programs are nice looking, but i'll take features, over beauty.

kinda like the iphone vs the tilt. one is the winner in the looks department, nice big screen full of colors, etc...but the other is absolutely dominating this battle as far as features.

EVERYBODY!! DL Palringo and join the ppcgeeks group!!

I'm using Palringo.... well it connected and it's showing all my contacts for MSN, Yahoo, and AIM, which is more than I can say for slick. I really did like Agile, but I cannot justify $40~ on an IM app, and my free trial expired. And its smart enough to know if you uninstall and reinstall it.

But what's with having to sign into Palringo first just to sign into the stuff you actually care about? That seem dumb/pointless to anyone? Anyway around it?

you have to sign into palringo first because they are trying to encourage people to use their services. so they make there's look like it's more important and the other services (aim, msn...etc) are just extras. i agree with you though. I'd much rather be able to sign into AIM (for example) and not have to sign into palringo, but I guess it doesn't really matter.... no complaints palringo rocks.

Re: Instant Messaging -which one are you using?

I would be interesting to see which app has the smallest memory footprint. I like Beejive a lot, but it is a HOG it takes 5-7MB of memory so it is not very good for the Mogul because all I have to do is launch another app like Opera mini and memory management will kill BJ. Whereas Palringo looks to take less than 1MB and stays running all the time, but i cant use palringo because it has a bug with Alltel based Mogul devices where it continues a reconnect loop until you cycle your phone radio off and on, which is too much of a hassle to monitor. I am going to try Slick right now, hopefully it is not a memory hog....

what features does it offer that the others don't? their website focusses on the voice feature which is of no importance to me.

I like that slick has small fonts so I can see more of my conversation on the screen, and I LOVE that slick uses the correct emoticons for each service, so I don't have to guess what somebody is trying to show me with their smilie.

Hi All,

Have a look at Yeigo (http://www.yeigo.com/)

What distinguishes this app is that it handles Skype chats as well as Facebook (yes, Facebook!)

Cheers

handles facebook...but not myspace =(

Slick is freaking awesome, but it's very hard on the battery.. Is one of these other apps really good on battery? would be nice if there was an app that did msn through text messages, does such a thing exist?

Re: What's your FAVORITE Instant Messenger for the 6800/Mogul/Titan...?

So far i like Slick alot but it's needs to get a better look like the fact that you can change the colors of it like on aim and send files and pics, but like i said the look is boring and gives problems logging in ever so often. You either have to make a call soft reset and even sometimes it still doesn't work. I'm now using Beejive and love the look 100% it looks just like aim wiht the buddy icons and you can choose the style of how the conversations show can send or receice pics or files nor does it show you if your buddy is replying to you

Re: What's your FAVORITE Instant Messenger for the 6800/Mogul/Titan...?

I'm fairly fond of fring, it's free and does voice as well as IM. It does use about 2mb of memory, but it doesn't seem to adversely affect battery life.

Palringo is awesome! I almost bought Mundu until I tried this. It's quicker than Mundu and doesn't heat up the phone like Slick does. I really recommend it!

what clients support facebook besides yeigo?

Re: Instant Messaging -which one are you using?

Palringo is the S%!t
It's awesome how it keeps you signed in, remotely, so I don't get a bunch of texts when I answer a call.
I bought AgileMessenger a while back and it was the worst $45 I ever spent. Works great, love the tabbed conversations, but that's about it.
As soon as Palringo has tabbed convo's it'll be the best ever.

I just downloaded Beejive.
I will post my feedback in about a week (or less if i can't stand it).
I must note, Beejive is still in development, so it's not a Production product yet.

You might start with this thread.

Also, run a search here in the Software Forum for "aim" or "aol". Since neither of those words will meet the minimum search word length, put a "*" after both...so that it looks like this: aim* or aol*.

Coz

Sounds like you haven't added each messanger account, either that or you are not logged in correctly.

You have to log in with your palringo user ID and PW, THEN add your various messanger accounts like AIM, MSN, gchat. Once you do that it should add all your buddies into one big list. No need to add them one by one. I've never used it on wifi, just EVDO. It doesn't seem to connect on the mogul unless your on EVDO.
